The recent post about the tat lately, made me decide to start this one. Summer is approaching, you'll start seeing babes at the beach and swimming areas.

As I sit there admiring a lovely woman in her bikini...she turns....and she has a tattoo sprawled across her entire ribcage.

Whatever happened to women with small, cute little tats on a wrist or ankle, now that they completely deface themselves with a large sleeve tat.

The lower back tat has even "expanded" to cover almost the entire lower half of the back.

One time, I went to one of those theme based restaurants where they had belly dancers.....it made me sick to see a belly dancer with a lower back tat the size of a dinner plate.

The 1950's "Pin Up" modeling has made a comeback, only to see tats on women that cover her upper chest, sleeves....etc.

Exhibit A

Very pretty woman, in a gold colored dress.....somehow I find clashes. An outfit more suitable for THIS woman would be leather chaps, chains, and probably be found on the back of an ex-cons motorcycle.

Just sayin'.

Now that I'm done ranting...(puts on flame retardant suit, LOL)

But, men, don't you agree....rather off-putting?

It wouldn't put me off, but I do think women look a lot better without tatts.

Horrible. Very musculine, dirty looking. I don't know why people are offended by the way, it's a personal preference like height, size, etc in the other person. At least you have a choice whether you want ink on your body, you can't choose your height.

Maybe should start a thread about face piercings, especially those around the mouth. They are disgusting.

I have seen some very pretty tats on women. But, I am not a fan of the pin-up women on women...or men. I think it's strange to get a person tattoed on you. I also don't understand some of the tats people get. But this one girl I know has this really beautiful multi-colored flower design on her lower back. It's very pretty. And I know another girl that had this really cool fish swiming in opposite directions with flowers on her arm. They are very artistic to me.

....Why are people without tattoos still so bothered about people with tattoos...?

Ever hear of anybody with tattoos being so bothered by people without tattoos...?

No.

Me neither.....:rolleyes::mad:

I guess it all depends on the tattoo. Some are very artistic and drawn beautifully and match well...others do not. Besides I got a couple of tats, one right arm sleeve, left leg sleeve, and left rib cage. So I can't complain

The girl in the gold dress is gorgeous, and I guarantee she wouldn't spend a second of her time on you small-minded, ignorant, judgmental men with prehistoric values systems. I also guarantee you these are the same men who are continuously unsuccessful and ignored by women and can't figure out why. Hint: nobody in the modern world likes judgmental idiots.

Yes, she's beautiful....but....why put a crap load of bumper stickers on a Mercedes, you know?

Not really, it could be a garden of flowers or a skull with knives through the eye sockets....just a deal breaker for me. I think I find it annoying, because a woman I would otherwise find attractive or consider dating would pretty much be willing to cover just about all her body parts with ink, just a turn off.

No one complains (even those with tats). You can't be turned off by something that's not there.

Yeah, they do look disgusting. When they're in the nose too.

They seemed to be a big thing in the late 90's.

Why not?

People are making assumptions about a girl's character, reputation and motives, just because she has tattoos.

By the same criteria, one can therefore judge a person who doesn't have tattoos, by what's not there...

Shall we for example say that people without tattoos are unadventurous, probably frigid, staid, reserved, anal and completely boring?

they play everything safe, have no sense of adventure, lead a grey repetitive, regimented life to a rigid routine, and probably think 'going out on the town' means popping down to the shops for eggs. bread and milk....

Considering her apparent age group, and therefore the fact that she's most likely not interested in old fashioned fogies, I'd say a better analogy is she's modified her Mercedes to make it even more desirable to the sort of people she would be interested in.

I have a theory that most men on this board who are omg soooooo against tattoos are single, in their 40s (or +), and have little success with women. I might be going out on a limb here, but how close am I, irc? ;)

Actually yes, I'm 40, however, there'd been women my age with said tats anyhow, so it's moot. I guess they're tryin' to keep up with the "cool kids" these days. I refer to it as the mid-life crisis. Of course, when I was that age....I still found it to be a turn off.

not the same thing at all....

bumper stickers are removable....

she's taken a production-line paint-job mercedes, and given it a whole new multi-colour pearlescent, iridescent 24-layer varnish effect paint-job...

some people like to do that to their cars.

Others, don't.

I'm not talking about judging someone's character/personality based of tats, I'm just saying it looks unappealing.

Really going out on a limb there....fortunately, bumper stickers are removable, however, ink is permanent.

You'd be surprised how the "tattoo regret" business is starting to boom though.

actually, I completely agree with you.

i have met a couple of ladies who now regret certain tattoos they had done, and laser treatment is lengthy, costly and can be very painful.

i can't argue there.

In fact,a mum of my acquaintance approached me once and asked me to speak to her daughter who, nearing her 18th, had asked for a tattoo.

Her mum - wise lady - had no tattoos, so thought the best person to advise her daughter was someone who did...

after a long, calm and sensible discussion with her daughter, she agreed to change her mind and delay getting a tattoo until she was a lot more certain about it all.

so yes, I, - having tattoos - was in a perfect position to actually be able to persuade someone to think a lot more carefully - and actually not have one.

But you are.

whenever anybody sees tattoos, they automatically associate those tattoos with a specific genre or personality.

It's stereotyping.

An outfit more suitable for THIS woman would be leather chaps, chains, and probably be found on the back of an ex-cons motorcycle.

That's your assessment of a woman, simply because of her tattoos.

I've got no idea how guys in prison can get tats all over their face.

Posted

They get them before they go in there - or between sentences.....

I think tattoos look terrible, especially on women. Piercings on the other hand can be attractive, and hidden when needed.

Posted

How do you hide a great big bolt ring though the lower lip, precisely...?

Every hear of anybody who smokes being bothered by people who don't smoke?

In any case, tattoos are ugly on women. I could never consider a woman with a tattoo as marriage material. And I know I'm not the only guy who thinks this way. Tattoos on women look trashy and make her seem whorish.

Some guys are attracted to tats on women, and some are not.

Typically, large tattoos can look quite masuline so I can understand why many men might not like them, but a lot of guys quite dig a tat.

This coming from a girl who chickened out of getting one in the end!

I like a lil tat coz I think it shows a person has been a lil adventurous and wild, but there's also nothing better than a flawless, untouched body.

It's not over until the maestro tat-hater sings. You can turn away now Hokie. You're not gonna like this.

People who get these things really think that other people see them. I for one don't. To me it just looks like their flesh is turned inside out--a self inflicted blemish that they put on themselves for one or two reasons or both. One is that they believe is buys them the bravado that used to come when the ancient savage actually suffered some ritual--like bringing down a saber-tooth tiger with a rock-- to earn the right to wear it and then has to endure having it slowly notched in with primitive implement in which case they were risking death from blood poisoning. It meant something then to the other savages that you were tough. Buying a tattoo at the flea circus not so much. The second is that they NEED it because they themselves lack distinction and therefore having one will fix this sense of inadequacy. It never does as it is only a matter of time before the mess starts creeping from forearm to neck and from ass crack to shoulder blade. My apologies to the few exceptions out there who got one for whatever misguided reason and stopped there. But they are ALWAYS a subtraction from nature's or god's, if you will, handiwork. It took billions of years to produce the human being and one who marks him or herself up shows just how primitive we still are in our appreciation of things. Like tattoos? Tour a prison. They seem to hand in hand with stupidity and unruliness. OK Hoke, you can look now.
