Women act like they are being nice, which they are, and it's just time to move on as a man. There is no reason to hang around if you want to be intimate. Why guys do is beyond me. Why a girl is wnating them to is beyond me.

If I have decided that I am not interested in guy who has shown interest in me. I never will request that we should be friends. However I will accept the offer if they ask. However I have guys friends where we both aren't interested in each other. However I have never successfully stayed friends with a guy where they has been any interest on either side and I don't know how guys or girls do it.

It's really not a friendship if you do anyway.

What about women who say "I only go out with guys I'm friends with first", a more advanced type of attention whore to avoid.

A lot of times the guy hangs around b/c the girl plays the attention game and strings a guy along. When a guy is into a girl any small crumb dropped by her is perceived as a chance. Also, Hollywood makes guys think if they keep trying the girl will see persistence as a quality worth taking a chance on.

Overall, it never works (at least in my experience).

Yeah, the "I have to be friends first" is usually given by women who have been hurt in the past. They have a wall up and unless you like to have your emotions constantly up and down it's best to move on. Plenty of emotionally available women who will want you out there! :D

irc already made a thread about this. Ironically, many guys were agreeing with the OP that the phrase "let's be friends" is a rejection and they should move on, while female posters were saying that's not necessarily the case.

Do you have the link handy? I must have missed that one. Thanks.
