mortensorchid Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 I was thinking today about the three most bizarre experiences I have ever had in the online world. I would have to say that these are rather unique whether or not our paths had crossed in the online world or otherwise. 1) A few years ago, I had met this guy online. He seemed alright, we had had a few chats online and then on the phone. One weekend we were snowed in and he said that he was going away for a long weekend. Saturday night I get a phone call from him, he said he had cancelled his trip. So we get to chatting, and he proceeded to ask me just about every nasty, rude, obnoxious question about sex that you could possibly imagine. I asked THREE TIMES to not ask me these questions, at first nicely and then more directly. Finally I told him that I did not like these questions, because I'm sure he would talk to his mother the way he talked to me, and hung up on him. He sent me a text afterwards saying "F*** you wh***". He probably would've chopped me up and left pieces of me in his freezer if I had ever met him face to face. 2) The man who would not stop calling - Another that I had met online was suspect to begin with, as he did not have a picture. I asked why (before I knew that was a red flag) and he said that he didn't know how to upload one. So we had arranged to meet, I said to make sure that he went to the first location and not the second because the agreed upon meeting place was a chain. So I am sitting at the arranged meeting place, nearly half an hour goes by. I called him, no answer. Then I get a call from a number I do not recognize and he said that he went to the wrong location and not the second one. He said he would be there soon. Another half hour goes by, I call him again, no answer. Then I get another call from another number he says that he's lost. I asked where he was calling from as I tried calling his number but he wasn't picking up. He didn't have a cell phone, he was calling me from pay phones! He said he would be there soon. ANOTHER half hour goes by, he calls again saying he's still lost. I offered to go outside and wait for him because he must be close, he said no no he would be there. ANOTHER HALF HOUR goes by, I said I'm fed up, I drove home. Weeks later, he called me. He said he was circling the same street over and over, and if he had turned his head to the left instead of the right he would've seen the place. He apologized and felt terrible. I accepted his apology and figured that was that. WRONG. He kept calling me for about six months afterward. Sometimes he would call me from up to 10 different numbers until I picked up. Never once did I return his calls. Then one day I said "Please don't call me again." He said "What did I do?!" I hung up. Never heard from him again. 3) MySpace days - Back in the MySPace days, I was online one night and get an IM from someone, we start to chat. I asked who the woman in the main photo was with him, he said she was a friend, I left it at that and we chatted about stuff (TV shows and such). We continued to chat for a week or so afterward, I figured this was going to be an online buddy since he lived far away. He told me he was going to move to Colorado, I asked what brought that on, he said he was going to be with the woman who was in his main photo and profusely apologized for being so flirty with me (yeah right). Then the next day he said he wasn't moving because the woman in Colorado was going through a divorce and needed time to heal from it. Then he said he was going to be in town for a ballgame, did I want to meet? I said ok, and we met at a bar near the ballpark. He was drunk off his ass! I said "You're drunk aren't you?" He said "Oh yeah, I'm drunk." I didn't think that was so great that someone arranged to meet someone and they get drunk knowing they were going to meet. Then on an online chat he asked if I wanted to meet at an amusement park in his town. I said ok, which was on a Tuesday. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday I hear nothing from him, by Saturday noon I said "I'm not going anywhere" and did other things. On Sunday morning I sign onto the computer and he says "Hey what happened yesterday?" I told him where to go for blowing me off and expecting me to drive 100 miles out of my way to see him without so much as a follow up call. I'd like to think #3 was vain and narcissitic, he thought he was a catch and expected me (and other women) to chase him. #2 was a bit dense to say the least. As for the first, I don't know, vain and narcissitic I guess. But this all says sociopathic behaviors. Just thought I would share.
january2011 Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Wow, this is the stuff of OLD nightmares. Bizarre indeed. Glad you didn't let any of it get to you though and you're still out there.
