sid3 Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 I've been wondering if I'm being too quick to judge someone. I was actually a little surprised when I saw it. On a few occasions she seemed to be trying to discreetly make it visible. Is it unfair to draw a conclusion because of it?
WildHorses Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 If she has the stamp, she is a tramp. Honestly, that does not mean anything. I just think having a tattoo in that region is just tacky and gross. Only my opinion. That does not mean the person is a tramp. 1
Author sid3 Posted April 24, 2012 Author Posted April 24, 2012 If she has the stamp, she is a tramp. I started thinking maybe it was a drunken mistake or something. Maybe you're right though IDK.
SmileFace Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 I know tramps with out stamps. Live above the stereo type. 2
WildHorses Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 I started thinking maybe it was a drunken mistake or something. Maybe you're right though IDK. It does not mean she is a tramp. Why not ask her why she got it there? There was a time that getting a tattoo in that spot, was the "in" thing to do. I believe Janet Jackson had one there, and I remember when I was younger, thinking it looked sexy. Later, it turns into, "tramp stamp." I don't have any tattoos. But, people get them because they enjoy them, and become addicted and get more. Some people regret having one in the first place.
TaraMaiden Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 (edited) i can't believe how judgmental men are about women with tattoos.... Edited April 25, 2012 by a LoveShack.org Moderator 2
Emilia Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 For many, it's a style/trend. Women of different social classes get them, not just tramps/ghetto people. The style differs from socio-economic class to socio-economic class. The really visible ones are usually for women that will never have a job so it depends.
TaraMaiden Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Gosh! God forbid if I'm asking about whether or not I'm being too judgemental. I believe anybody that evaluates a person's character by what they see, rather than what they know, is making a hasty judgement. 2
wwwjd Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 I believe anybody that evaluates a person's character by what they see, rather than what they know, is making a hasty judgement. Welcome to Earth. 1
Author sid3 Posted April 24, 2012 Author Posted April 24, 2012 I believe anybody that evaluates a person's character by what they see, rather than what they know, is making a hasty judgement. That's what I was wondering when I started this thread.
TaraMaiden Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 sorry wwwjd, I'm terrestrial, and I don't do it. I know plenty of others who don't either. I used to be in the position of having to interview applicants for specific posts. I met plenty with tattoos, but i can tell you now, tattoos give no indication of character or professional ability. I've met plenty of nasty pieces of work with no tattoos at all,. I'd be willing to bet a high proportion of men on this forum, lamenting a breakup, have an ex- without a single tattoo. maybe plenty of them have exes WITH tattoos... same with the ladies. it doesn't reflect the person's character at all. "The big difference between people with tattoos and people without tattoos, is that the people with tattoos don't give a damn if the people without tattoos - don't have tattoos." 1
dasein Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 I believe anybody that evaluates a person's character by what they see, rather than what they know, is making a hasty judgement. When I see a tramp stamp, I also see jaeger bombs, loud screeching, too much drugs and booze, unsafe sex practices, impulsiveness, flakiness, financial irresponsibility, frivolity, lack of any social class or style, boorishness, bad musical taste, general ignorance of the world around them. I didn't just wake up one day and decide this, it's from seeing dozens and hundreds of the "stamped" engaging in the above listed behaviors that aren't compatible with me or my lifestyle. Once I see hundreds of well-balanced, healthy, interesting, classy, accomplished, kindhearted women with tramp stamps I will change my tune. Not holding my breath though. 4
zengirl Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 It was a trend in the 1990s and early 2000s, as I recall, to get a tattoo in that spot --- the reasoning follows the fashion trends: midriffs were in. And not considered 'trampy' really. I never liked them, but I remember them. I was quite happy to find longer shirts were in a few years ago. We seem to be trending towards shorter shirts now. Anywhoo... Personally, I find the spot a bit of a tacky one for a tattoo, but I think it's hardly an indicator of a gal's trampishness. My best friend in college was a virgin when she got her "tramp stamp" and remained one for most of her life, until she met her H. She was also a pretty devout Christian. Generally speaking, I'm more interested in the content and reasoning behind a tattoo than its placement. People who got tattoos because they were cool or trendy usually aren't people who are interesting to me, in general, but many of my friends have tattoos in various places, as does Hubby (no tramp stamp, of course, but he has a semi-sleeve). They also selected images that have deep meaning to them and are passionate about what they've selected to put on their bodies. That's the only question I'd have about a tattoo. 1
Lostinlife4now Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 I don't have a tattoo....but I think "Tramp Stamps" are hot.... BUT never judge a book by it's cover!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
mtber75 Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Girls with tattoos on their lower back (right above the butt) are pretty slutty because I see all the strippers having them and plus you see them when your doing her doggystyle which reminds you that your with a stripper? Girls with big tattoos on their arms and legs are not very attractive either...I mean who do they think they are, guys? 1
gibson Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 I used to be in the position of having to interview applicants for specific posts. I met plenty with tattoos, but i can tell you now, tattoos give no indication of character or professional ability. My co-workers or I do not have any visible tattoos or piercings. If we did, we would have never been hired in the first place. Our clients are Directors, VPs, CXOs, etc. of Fortune 500 companies and those Executive positions do not generally attract the tattoos or piercings crowd. I would have never been taken seriously or had an opportunity to form the relationship to "win" their business if I had a piercing in my eyebrow, tattoos on my neck or down my arm. If you choose to get visible tattoos or piercings... there may be certain jobs or careers where that could pose a problem. Call it prejudice or not... That is just the way it is and it isn't going to change anytime in the foreseeable future. 1

At any rate, Hubby doesn't cover up his tattoos for work, and he makes a good living and is a manager at his company. So, that's not every field. *shrug* He could, technically, cover them up --- with a long-sleeved shirt --- but he does not.

People without tats below the age of 30ish have become the anomalies, not the norm.
Author sid3 Posted April 24, 2012 Author Posted April 24, 2012 Yes, it's unfair to draw a conclusion so quickly.. In this case, I'm guilty of jumping to a quick conclusion. After all, I've also seen girls wearing 'juicy' pants that were anything but juicy.

Too brash.
Ruby Slippers Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Girls with tattoos on their lower back (right above the butt) are pretty slutty because I see all the strippers having them and plus you see them when your doing her doggystyle which reminds you that your with a stripper? I don't make character judgments based on tattoos, but some of them are just so cliche that I can't help supposing the bearer isn't all that imaginative. I don't care how cute a guy is, if he has one of those "tribal" rings around his arm, it's a huge turn-off. To me, it just makes him look like a crowd-following sheep. (Pretty much same for the tramp stamp - I've never seen one that looks very creative or interesting.)
Feelin Frisky Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 I don't see it as a tramp stamp--just a very poor choice representing a time of immaturity and short-sightedness. It always subtracts and never adds. 1

Lol. I was refering to the sweats and shorts with what are commonly refered to as whore tags written on the butt.

While I'm not a tat fan and agree that it detracts from attraction, that's just my opinion and not based on any kind of objective measure since when it comes to attraction, there are no objective measures.
