OP's reason for bringing in feminism is crystal clear, feminism has spent 30-40 years calling men dogs, pigs, rapists, led around by our dicks, shaming men for natural, healthy sexual desire. NOW, OP is told he must go out and approach women and display this sexual desire, that women will discount him as a man unless he does so in a confident manner. He wonders at the inconsistency in what femworld tells him on the one hand and what actually works in femworld on the other. Couldn't be more clear actually.

You aren't the only one in the thread who didn't understand OP's point on feminism and inconsistency, don't feel bad.

Nah, YOU are the one who doesn't get it. Where I grew up nobody even knew what feminism was and I was told all those horrible things about men by women, my grandmothers etc.

Women have been thinking those things about men for way more than 50 years since their lives have been affected by it. Stop being so ignorant.

Nothing in the above contradicts anything I said about OP's reference to feminism. Unlike you, he obviously wasn't around prefeminism, so the ranting campus "rape button" persona equating men with "lowest common denominator date rapist" where sex is concerned has likely been his main exposure to feminism to date. Small wonder he feels as he does about feminism.

Personality and confidence matter, but they don't matter when they come in an ugly package.

This is the problem I had with the last guy I dated. He was PERFECT. PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT in every sense EXCEPT.... I wasn't attracted to him because he wasn't good looking.

I gave it a shot, I dated him for a couple of months, but the attractiveness never grew. There was no sex, no physical chemistry NADA.

The things you mentioned matter, but they are useless if you aren't attracted to the guy. And yes, most women are attracted to certain things, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Honest post....me gusta.

Ofc they are attracted so certain things, i have been feed with crap that girls go for personality and some girls even lie to themselfs if they are asked what do you notice when you see a guy? " i notice personality and then good looks don´t hurt  ".

They don´t want to been seen as shallow if they would be honest "i notice good looks first" then i would not bragg about this.

But if a guy would say "I notice good looks first" he would get flammed with "you´r so shallow,it´s the inside that counts".

You get the point

I know for a fact that my mother never turned hateful until she started becoming exposed to a feminist group on campus. She has issues from her childhood but they took that and planted the seed.

I agree with the others that men get all these charges and stereotypes thrown at us when in reality women are just as bad and truth be told men are not nearly as shallow as we get accused of being. I know women swear they need to be a surgically enhanced porn star just to get a man to look at them but that is simply not the case.

There is no amount of hotness in the world to make me want to put with some of the craziness and drama some men put up with. Some women love to point the finger at men and accuse us of everything in the book but they are just as bad as we are.

Also I have no issue with the dictionary definition of feminism but what it has turned into these days is just a belief that men are bad and women are good no matter what the actual facts. A man can never win no matter what in this belief system.

Blaming misandry on 'feminists' is really the same thing as blaming terrorist bombings on 'Islam' or blaming deaths by couples who refuse to bring their children to doctors on 'Christianity'. The loudest, most publicized people who self-proclaim themselves to be part of any belief/activist groups are not necessarily the best examples of such. Surely it's obvious.

Then why don't feminists do more to distance themselves from it? It reminds me of the way the Catholic church looks the other way with the abuse scandal. Not all Catholics are bad but when you let this element thrive in your ranks don't be surprised when it weakens the entire movement.

Some of us do, but we're not the ones making headlines and not the ones whose stories are passed around like wildfire. Drama and extremism attracts attention. Moderates don't.
