CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Has anyone else had this happen after a break up? I'm normally into hip hop but after my break up I've been listening to alternative/rock. I'm guessing it's because I never would have listened to this genre in the time we were together, so there's less songs that bring up memories. It's just weird cause I haven't listened to the stuff im listening to now in over 6 years. Anyone else have any similar odd changes in their lives?
Woggle Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 I am starting to grow less and less into angst ridden wrist cutting music. I put on some Nine Inch Nails the other day and while I still like it I felt like telling Trent to get over it.
nthay Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Well i had the same as you but i think it's pretty random that it was timed like that, i just accidentally fell over an old band and started listening to rock again. Now im in a hiphop period. I guess your general mood does have an influence but i don't think it's a direct result of the break up.
Author CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC Posted April 24, 2012 Author Posted April 24, 2012 I guess I just feel that majority of the time we spent listening to the radio it was turned to a certain genre, and being that I've changed it now allows for less memories to occur. I can't be like "hey I remember we were doing this when this song first started playing." Anyhow, it just seems like im taking every little procedure I can to get her off my mind. I guess it's a good thing, it feels weird listening to rock again though haha.
budley12 Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 I got back into jazz and classical music. No heart sobbing lyrics about relationships. Just pure music.
Feelin Frisky Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Not really. I despise hip hop come hell or high water--heart break or scaybees.
