Zengirl, I bet this jacket would look cute on you. Great day to evening look. I wish it came in a different color and I'd buy it myself.

Yeah, I hate hot pink, but cute jacket! I have some like that. Those sorts of jackets can look cute in a date like setting but suit jackets -- even young ones that are tailored well like the BCBG ones I have -- just look stuffy to me. I'd never wear a jacket that's open and flowing like that to a job interview, though I could wear it to my work.

I wear a lot of jackets like this (in "fun" settings):

I like the style and color but not the leather. Can't afford it either! Let's stop enabling each other because while I hate shopping IRL, I do online shopping and I can't afford to be tempted now!

Oh, I can't afford that either! Ridiculously expensive. I can, however, afford the Asian knockoffs, and Korea and Japan knockoff EVERYTHING BCBG makes so I look at that site for that. :D I just forward the pics to my cousins and have them ship it back.

I just meant I like deconstructed jackets. Most of mine aren't leather either.

Yeah I'm not too big on black anything. The black-hairs... too many. Like the blue jeans... too many. Black is crap. We dudes want a world of colors, not two colors. So... keep black clothing for the funerals and shave your heads... or dye them or something. Wear colorful dresses. If I want to see black I'll just turn the lights off.

I can definitely get away with a lot more than the men can. In my office, the men wear suits on court days (obviously, everyone does), and on non-court days, they're wearing dress pants, dress shirt, and a tie. That's it. I wear suits on court days, and have quite a variety every other day. Today, I'm wearing a dress and boots and nice jewelry. Yesterday, I wore dress pants, a frilly blouse, and a cardigan with open toe heels. But the common theme at work for me is the darker the better - it imbibes a "serious" vibe, I guess. Which is what a prosecutor's or any other law office is, I suppose.

We're all really cheery, happy people on Friday's though... casual Friday (except for those who had court, and are in suits...they're not so happy!).

Is that like a suit without the jacket or what do you mean? And are people on casual Friday really allowed to wear what they want? I once heard casual Friday means you don't have to wear a tie, but that was it.

It depends where you work. I work in a very casual environment. During the summer, some people wear (longer) shorts to work. Jeans and flip flops are accepted as well.

Yeah, I wear bermudas a lot in the summer, when running camps for kids. I only wear suits when meeting with potential donors -- sometimes not even then -- or directors from the Board.

Today, I'm working in jeans, flip flops, and a nice top. But I'm not meeting with anyone but some employees and 4th graders later.

On non-court days, the men's outfits kinda look like a suit without the jacket, yes. But I think their pants aren't suit pants. In the winter, the older guys put sweaters over their shirts, and you can still see the knot of their tie.

As for casual Friday, no, I can't get away with anything. The male attorneys will wear jeans or casual pants (chinos) with a nice shirt, or something like that. The only change to my outfits is that I can wear nice jeans instead of slacks. The staff though really dress down, right down to shorts in the summer. I find it annoying and unprofessional.

Go to a dressy-ish social event--it's a room full of women in black dresses. Sure they look nice, but it's all the same.

Years ago I went to a work party held at a nightclub. The place was pitch black and most people wore black I suppose to look cool. People kept coming up to me saying, "You're the only person I can find in this place!" I was wearing a white suit.

As someoneone who pretty much exclusively dates goth girls I must wholly disagree with that premise!

I find the color black on women is very sexy.

My Fiance has yellow blond hair and the constrast of her blond hair and fair skin in black makes her look very hot IMHO.

Just like women with black hair always look great in red or with very red lipstick etc. But that's just me.
