This question as posed to an older gentlemen still in the dating scene:

Can you compare women in 2012 to 10 yrs? 20 yrs ago? How have they changed since y'all were younger guys? Let us young players know how the game has changed.

His response:

Oh yeah. Well for starters, the number one thing I've noticed is that flaking has gone off the charts since the 90s. It's at the point where girls that approach ME will still flake. In the 90s, any girl that showed any degree of IOIs was a guaranteed thing. If she gave you her number, she would answer the phone when you called, or return your call every time. You simply have to chase a lot harder now. It takes more work now than it did when I was in my early to mid 20s.

The era before texting, facebook and smartphones seems like a distant memory. I've forgot what it feels like to walk into a bar or club and not see half the women's faces pointed down illuminated by the glow of their iphone. This stuff has had a profound impact on the going out experience. They may be present, but their attention is elsewhere. Clubs are full of girls huddled together on the dancefloor taking iphone pics of themselves to instantly tag and upload to facebook. That **** was unimaginable when I was in college. Women actually went out to clubs to meet guys, not to be digital attention whores.

Ladies and gentlemen, what do you think?

IOIs

After reading the above lingo, I don't think much of it beyond an old and washed up PUA, wishing for his dream like golden days.

Ray Manzarek who played the organ with the rock group The Doors wrote a bit about dating in the 50s and in the 60s.

In the 50s men were supposed to court; giving them a ring; and formally ask to go steady before getting any sex.

In the 60s things started to change and the old fashion romance slowly died out.

What's an IOI?

What's an IOI?
It's the PUA acronym for "indicators of interest".

Having read some PUA literature, I believe it means "Indicator Of Interest", which is pretty self-explanatory.

EDIT: threebyfate just confirmed that before I did .

As a man who is still young, I have nothing to add.

Can't stop laughing at the visual image of an old washed up PUA guy, cruising clubs in a leisure suit! :lmao:

Looking like a pimp. Or even better, unbuttoned black silk shirt with hairy chest and gold chains. :(

Hysterical! :lmao:

Let's not forget the platform boots that go with the leisure suit, chunky gold (fake) rolex and big medallion buried in the mound of chest hair since his shirt's open to his big-ass belt buckle!

True but men have also. People in general have change and if you ask me for the worse. I wish sometimes I could just take a time machine back to the 90s but have the life I have now.

That is how I think all PUA guys will end up washed up and alone because they keep trying for the BBD. Guys have changed too haven't they? They have become sissy little boys that are too scared to come up to a girl. This is why us girls have had to resort to online dating, because just going out does not = meeting guys anymore.

The early 90s were awesome. A girl could look hot in ripped jeans and a flannel shirt, with combat boots :lmao: I'm hoping for that style to come back when my kids are dating.

I was not aware the PUA was around in the 90s. Happy to have bypassed that entirely.

The music better too plus the movies were great.

Please tell me I don't sound like an old man who things everything was better when he was younger.

yes agreed. women have changed from good to REALLY unthinkable worse in 10-20 years. too many game playing, cheaters, liars, superficiality, unrealistic snotty people then act as if its not their fault and it REALLY is. get what they want and cause alot of hassle, heartache and trouble for innocent and genuine guys.

they need to learn lessons and BE REAL. sorry but the truth.

no such thing as real romance or old fashioned morals and values. too much drama

It's true, ya gotta look a little shinier now to get the boys' attention. I never asked for this. But time marches on!

Back in the days a woman can go to a thrift shop and look hot. Nowadays they feel they have to but absurdly expensive clothes and make themselves look like living barbie dolls in order to be attractive.
