Emilia Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Yeah I gave it a thought but I rather not. It may work but I don't care to risk the chance that it doesn't. Glad it worked for you tho. Well it hasn't yet but I'm getting the traffic for the moment. Completely understand your point though and I was on the verge of giving up when this highlighting thing happened. Good luck.
Emilia Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 I meant E in my earlier response to you. That's ok, not offended
Mme. Chaucer Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 I just told the guys who didn't initiate it that I would like to meet them for coffee. I didn't feel like I was asking them out for a date, which is out of my comfort zone (though I'm all for it in theory). Then it was set a time and date for the rendezvous, or no more contact. There certainly is a demographic of people who really don't intend to meet IRL for one reason or another and they just need to be avoided. Ironically, my husband and I did not manage to meet ftf for over 2 months, and we stayed in almost if not daily contact during that time. This was due to him being on the road constantly, though. I don't think that anyone who seriously wants a relationship should "give up" on OLD. Just don't invest too much in it, no "all eggs in one basket," but keep your foot in. It's a valid way to meet people and also a good way to encounter flakes, just like other ways of dating.

This can't be emphasised enough. I think a lot of people tend to internalise others' flakiness or unpreparedness too much.

I agree but I guess my want for a relationship is strained and I rather step away from OLD instead of grow bitter towards it.
