Going to try and get a girl in my class that I never talk to. Thoughts?

So after a few events today I have decided to go after the only "single" girl I can think of in any of my classes. I know that she used to have a boyfriend, but I don't see her walking with that guy anymore so I presume they broke up, so I recently requested her as a friend on facebook and am waiting for a response so I can check.

 

If in fact she is single, I will try to think of things to talk to her about before and after class. We also have a 20 minute study session at the end of school (mandatory) and I sit near her, and on days where we do not study, I can start talking to her.

 

The only problem is I don't know if she is single, but if she is I still have not really talked to her all year. I have 30 school days left. Do you guys have any advice or comments about all of this? It seems like a hard undertaking.

Your post suggests that you're only going to "try and get" her because you think she's single, which leads me to think that you just want a girlfriend and any girl will do. If that's the case, leave her alone and ask out a girl you're actually attracted to - one who is definitely single.

Just trying to make small talk and become antiquated with her this week, talked to her for a couple minutes today so it seems to be going well.
