mortensorchid Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 I don't get this. I had posted on this man before, but we had arranged to meet on Tuesday of this week. Tuesday morning he sent me a text saying he could not get together than night because his daughter was going to be with him that night unexpectedly. I texted back "Ok, I know things happen when you have kids. Talk soon." Haven't heard a thing from him since and I am not about to reach out to him since he was the one who should've rescheduled. Now I am not blaming myself for this, but I just don't get how someone doesn't follow through. So ... That's that with him. I didn't even know him. But this is just a reflection of what he must be like, right? A flake? Could be. I feel like there are nothing but losers out there.

january2011 Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 I think there's too little information to speculate. I understand that you're somewhat put out by his seeming lack of enthusiasm in following up but you don't know the whole story. For example, a family member might have been taken ill, for example and rescheduling a date might be the last thing on his mind. If there is enough in your previous exchanges to suggest that he might be worth getting to know, then I'd follow up with at least one more call or text. Otherwise, I'd just take it he wasn't interested and/or the timing was off. Then move on. It's unfortunate, but sometimes life just gets in the way.
