My apologies for missing this one. As it seems to have attracted a lot of the forum regular posters, this would be a perfect point to publish a relevant community guideline:

 

Primary directive

 

The LoveShack.org Community Forums provide an on-line resource to confront personal conflicts, promote participation in self-discovery and responsibility, and encourage collaboration between community participants on romantic and platonic interpersonal relationship issues. Submissions to the forum which fall under this directive are considered "on-topic" while all others are considered "off-topic."

We recognize that regular community participants may want to engage in conversations that are considered off-topic and unrelated to the primary directive of the service. In order to ensure that off-topic threads do not take attention away from on-topic threads, we have created a special area for these threads and expect that all off-topic conversations take place within that area. Precedence is given to on-topic discussions and responses to on-topic threads should at all times stay on-topic. Off-topic threads may occasionally be subject to time-limits before being closed to further posting, and in some cases may be deleted at the moderators' discretion. Such decisions are never arbitrary, and reflect the moderators' sense that an off-topic thread is dominating the forum discussions, and/or is a source of divisiveness between participants.

As the thread has little to nothing to do with dating and is inconsistent with the primary directive and is not being discussed in the existing off-topic thread, I will close it now and sincerely apologize for allowing it the legs I did.

 

 

 

I will also direct members to exercise their own choices in which topics to engage and which ones to avoid, consistent with community guidelines. I will also request that conversation about what moderators allow and disallow to be ceased on the public forums. If you have a comment about moderation, do it privately.

Post subject matter like this, if you must, in the off-topic thread.

 

 

Do not discuss moderation policy publicly unless and until requested to by forum moderators or administrators.

 

 

 

This is an official announcement. The topics covered here, if violated, will now result in a vacation from posting privileges. This thread and the posters therein will stand unfettered, for now. Concrete wall looming. Be careful. That is all.

 

Edited to add that, upon review, one previously banned member and all references to said member's posts have been excised, along with discussion of moderation.
