Damn those Brits and their bad eyesight!

That's probably how they can tolerate being amongst so many ugly people.

Well it certainly helped when I visited Florida. Some of those facelifts :eek:

Here's a graphic which supposedly represents the average Human face from various ethnic groups/nationalities around the world:

And the male versions:

There isn't too much difference between the English face and other European groups.

Your source is pictures places together on some random blogs? Are those credible sources? Really?

Probably because British ancestry is so amalgamated with other nationalities and ancient racial differences. If you really think about it, is there any such thing as "indigenous British"?

To those who are all hot and bothered: Did you all not read this bit of his post? Jeez, take the sticks out of your butts.

Well, it's the average derived when you combine (overlay) 100 or 1000 faces one on top of the other. It's at least something to go on.

The most attractive guys I've been with had british in them. Last one was about a year ago, so hot.

"Been with" as in dated? I thought you didn't get many dates.

I'm mildly amused, just because I remember when the troll brigade was spewing all their venom into the defamation of American women, and several of the British regulars were laughing at the resultant hullaballoo, sweetly above it all.

Okay, brief moment of schadenfreude indulged and put behind me.

Yet I'm still amused, that this is even an issue. Most of the people I know, male and female, have found at least one Brit dangerously seductive at some time in their lives. Almost anyone from the UK who traipses along American shores will suddenly find themselves strolling through a meat market, when about half the Americans in earshot respond to the accent as if to a siren call...and my own unscientific survey suggests that at least one woman out of ten, regardless of her own origin, is rendered helpless by a man in a kilt. I myself quite thoroughly enjoyed my time in the "Ugly Kingdom"...I was like a kid in a candy store.

The numbers in the article thrown up are obviously meaningless. The OP was obviously inflammatory...Ninja appears to be feeling his oats today.

Considering these images come from a website called "feminist philosophers", I wouldn't put too much stock in them. Besides, these "averages" are completely generic and don't even look like real people due to their perfect symmetry and lack of distinguishing characteristics. It's like trying to imagine what an average car looks like...no such thing.

Yet again you referred to Londoners being educated as if nobody outside London can even read or write. You also repeatedly talk about green teeth, not using deodorant etc.

Gosh, I guess you missed the two examples I just gave. How about these: An executive with British Rail in Derbyshire, a lawyer in Cheltenham, a funeral director in Northumberland, a management consultant in Cambridge (who had beautiful teeth which people presumed were false). Happy now?

I don't mind crooked teeth, just bad dental hygiene. You lot have the NHS so it costs you far less compared to what Americans pay. Bad teeth can be life threatening if the bacteria from infected gums travel to the heart. Scroll about halfway down to the closeup of the guy in the cap. That's what I'm talking about. In the US, you only see those sort of teeth on people at WalMart.

I can only report on what I've seen and experienced over the years in many parts of England. As a friend said (Cambridge graduate) "I think you've seen more of England than I have!" He was a journalist for The Times.

I can't help but wonder why you get so hysterical if people comment on the stereotype of a Brit with bad teeth. It doesn't bother me when people say Americans are fat. Maybe because I'm not fat.

Americans are usually the ones cracking wise about British people, hence the assumption.

Aussies hate whingeing poms.

Heh, well it doesn't originate from a feminist website, that's just the source I linked. If you type "average face" you can find links to it from various blogs and news outlets. It was a pretty well publicized item when it originally came out around a year ago. A photographer named "Mike Mike" travelled the world taking pictures of ordinary citizens in all of the countries. I don't know his methodology, if they had to be of a particular (average) age or whatever. He seemed to have selected mostly young people.

Whether it's actually representative is a separate question, as you pointed out. When you put 100 faces together the product isn't not necessarily going to look like any particular one of those 100. I mean, obviously it's just an average, if you scoured the streets of Paris you could select out an example of a French face who looked more like the Irish face and vice versa. Even so it's roughly accurate, I think, even if it's not uniformly accurate. The "Irish" face does have a particular look I've seen in Irish people, sort of square-jawed Colm Meaney type look.

You made these references in this thread? If so, I missed them. Can you please provide the link.

But I live in the UK and do not know anybody who has bad dental hygiene to the extent that they have "green teeth" however you repeatedly state that people in the UK have teeth this bad. I suspect my experience of the British public is better than yours.

Ah there goes the Oxbridge reference again

He must be a pretty poor journalist if that is the case (note - I would also say the same about a British journalist who said that to me)

:lmao: No, it's not hysterical, it's called being annoyed and frustrated with ignorant stereotypes.

I love your weak attempt to suggest I have bad teeth by the way - pretty desperate really.

Happy to oblige. Post #40.

But I live in the UK and do not know anybody who has bad dental hygiene.

Of course, it must not be true if you haven't experienced it yourself. I guess humans haven't landed on the moon either, since you've never been.

I suspect my experience of the British public is better than yours.

Not better my dear, just different.

Ah there goes the Oxbridge reference again

I love a man with Oxbridge accent!

:lmao: No, it's not hysterical, it's called being annoyed and frustrated with ignorant stereotypes.

Like yours about "Florida facelifts"? For all you know, those women were British expats! Sounds like I've seen more of Britain than you've seen of the US. Disneyworld isn't representative of all of the States.

Stereotypes exist because there is a grain of truth in all of them. Don't get your knickers in a twist if they don't describe you.

Carry on!

Congratulations mate, with this post you've just gone from one of LS' most rational and intelligent posters to little better than a troll.

I expected better.

Do cry sum moar plz.

Did you not read where OP said the topic was made in jest?

So there's more than one dude constantly trolling this site? Jeez. I guess as long as the mods get their pay-per-click revenue they only wanna half-administer this site.

Post 40 did not describe people in the detail you did later re jobs, location etc hence obvious why I did not spot that. Regardless, post 40 was hardly positive about the English.

Landing on the moon? Is this your attempt to try and appear superior to me in intellect? Trying to be clever? I have never said that there is no bad dental hygiene here. What I have said is that it is nowhere near as bad as some of your posts imply.

Please don't call me "dear" - it is very condescending and not at all appreciated.

An Oxbridge accent? What is an Oxbridge accent? You do realise that Oxbridge is not a real place?

The Florida facelifts quote was obviously made in humour. Plus your attempt to suggest my experience of Florida is based on Disneyworld is yet again patronising and incorrect.

Stereotypes and a grain of truth... well you said it. There may be a grain of truth but that does not mean it tells the whole story. Far from it.

Getting my knickers in a twist? I am not going to sit around and watch someone come out with ignorance of this level without questioning it. I have done this before on this site about subjects other than British stereotypes aswell. I despise bigotry.

If we are stereotyping I am sure I read that America is the fattest nation in the world with 45% who have butts so big they need their own zip code!

As for the green rotting teeth, I do not know one person with teeth that bad and at least we dont have Big Mac particles stuck in em!
