Avoidance is just a delay. You should let yourself go through your emotions, but do not let them stagnate. It's ok to feel sad but if you start to have strong depressed or suicidal feelings you should move onto something else. Try to have something on hand that you can focus on right away if you start feeling too bad.

 

Don't avoid, but don't linger either.
