I usually pick them up since I am a gentleman, but I understand that she would prefer to meet me since we haven't talk long online. We exchanged a couple of emails and we talked via instant message this evening. I was thinking of bringing yellow roses on the 1st date. Yellow signifies friendship. Should I bring roses or not? Ladies please answer. Only ladies please! I want your thoughts. Thanks Soxfaninfl

She won't know what yellow means, she will see a man she had never met before in her life bringing her roses and she might get frightened by that. On the other hand, she might turn out to be a complete monster and you will feel foolish. This isn't a 'proper' first date as you have never met before. Keep it simple and light hearted.

Make sure that you have showered, that you wear clean clothes (I would suggest to wear a jeans and a nice shirt and jacket coz you will probably not do a wine and dine for a first date), comb your hair and brush your teeth. Go for a coffee or a walk and keep it low-key. Be genuinely interested in what the girl tells you, listen to her and open up a bit about yourself.

veggirl Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 NO to gifts for a girl you don't even know. I agree that she prob would not even know what yellow means, plus this is a date why would you want to bring something that signifies friendship anyway.

If she likes you and you bring a rose - she would see it as the sweetest thing ever. If you bring a rose and she doesn't like you it will be the creepiest thing ever. The rose wont make a differnce So just leave it alone and don't bring anything. Good luck!
