wwwjd Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 CONVICTS!! {need to fix typo in topic} you know who you are. you see some murdering, rapist, loser on the news and somehow he needs to get a message from you that you love him, want to bare his children, want to meet or visit.... is the dating scene THAT BAD, that a twisted, mis match to society seems like a GOOD idea? I don't get it. Please explain. How do you get around the, "This person is in jail for a REASON" reasoning in your head? Is it ONLY because you SEE them on television? What the heck is it? Why are there always crazed women with "I LUV YOU" signs at executions and "famous" prisoner transfers? Maybe it is just any man in (prisoner) Uniform? I'm not sure how we can be any more messed up than this.
Author wwwjd Posted April 12, 2012 Author Posted April 12, 2012 ok ok I get it. No one wants to admit publically they fell in lust with a convict they saw on TV. Let's move on. Why do any of you THINK all those other girls fall for a convict they don't even know? 1
Oxy Moronovich Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 In order to understand women writing inmates, you need to drop two myths: Myth 1: women are innocent creatures. They are not. They are attracted to bad things just like men. Bad men intrigue them. Myth 2: the average woman is approached by men regularly. The average woman can count the number of times she's approached by men on one hand. The average woman is lonely. Therefore, she chooses to write to inmates. These men aren't going anywhere. So she can engage in an emotional relationship without worrying if he's cheating or going to leave her. She likes to believe he's a misunderstood man who got caught on the wrong side of the law. 1
xxoo Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Because they (the women) are messed up. She wants to save him. She needs enormous amounts of adoration, more than a guy with a real life would give. And she knows he isn't going anywhere.
soserious1 Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Probably for many of the same reasons people engage in what they call "LTR" with people they've never met in real life & whom they've communicated with only on the internet.
fishtaco Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Recently I was serving jury duty. And amongst all the potential jurors, there was one woman that caught my eye immediately. She was way more attractive than anyone else there. I didn't approach her, I just looked, because I'm in a relationship. Otherwise I would have tried to chat her up and tried to figure out her deal. In fact, the prosecuting attorney was checking her out too, I caught him hehe. During jury selection, a bunch of gang related questions were asked. So she said x number of years ago.... and she looks young, so I have a feeling she was under-aged at the time, she dated a gang banger that was convicted of either murder or attempted murder, I forgot. I had an inner chuckle when I heard it. Oh stereotype, you are so funny sometimes.
Author wwwjd Posted April 12, 2012 Author Posted April 12, 2012 one would think of all the "dealbreakers" out there.... well, it's pretty obvious. Yet, persists. WHEIRD with a capital H
jobaba Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Looks. Redirect Notice I remember when that guy was on trial and in the news and women were going ape-sh@t over him. If there was a hot woman who was in the news who had done mass murder, she'd probably get a lot of attention too. The only hot female criminals I can think of are the ones who have slept with their 13 year old students.
Oxy Moronovich Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 one would think of all the "dealbreakers" out there.... well, it's pretty obvious. Yet, persists. WHEIRD with a capital H It's because you don't understand women that makes it so confounding to you. Women going for convicts makes sense if you know how women operate.
FitChick Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Interesting story about this phenomenon on ABC News.
gaius Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Interesting story about this phenomenon on ABC News. Aron notes that physical separation isn't necessarily a barrier to a satisfying relationship. For some, it may actually be helpful. "Between 20 [percent] and 30 percent of the population is uncomfortable with attachment," he said. "For some people it's threatening to be intimate, and a relationship with an incarcerated partner may give these people the sense of control they want or need when it comes to emotional closeness." Makes sense to me. The women who aren't looking for sex get a partner they can't have sex with. I knew there were people like that floating around but I didn't know the percentage was that high.
kaylan Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Why are guys partying and sleeping with Casey Anthony? Why do guards date and sleep with female inmates? Some people are just losers without morals. /thread
Author wwwjd Posted April 13, 2012 Author Posted April 13, 2012 It's because you don't understand women that makes it so confounding to you. Women going for convicts makes sense if you know how women operate. Whoa! An epiphany! You are so right. I didn't know women at all until your post cleared it all up for me. Clearly, I have no right to question things about which I know nothing about concerning the opposite sex. My 35 years of direct experience with them means nothing. It's amazing how well you know me so deeply having never met me before ever. Thank you so much for setting me strait, everything is solved now. OR, maybe I was simply making a topic I thought could be some controversial conversations on teh interwebs. GOSH!
Author wwwjd Posted April 13, 2012 Author Posted April 13, 2012 Would you give Carmen a chance? Carmen Lewis Why, because she is cute? Nope. In prison is high on MY deal breakers list.
