I remember one time I was driving home from New York to NJ at three in the morning with a woman I was casually seeing and there was nobody on the highway. All of a sudden she mentions how cool it would be if I went fast so I floored it and ended up going over 100 miles per hour. She loved it and I think I damn near gave her an orgasm in the car but we are damn lucky they didn't end up scraping our bodies off the highway.

What is the dumbest thing you ever did?

Same exact thing you describe. I will drive a nice sports car too fast, so stick to basic, reliable transportation.

LOL that is the normal speed around here, usually even faster. you wouldn't impress anyone with that here. :lmao:

I have switched my complete class schedule when in highschool to be around someone. However that doesn't count as trying to impress someone I think, lol. However I use to sit directly where the sun was hitting in my class room since a guy I liked said he liked how my eyes looked in the sun. I haven't done anything recently but if I think about it - I would most definitely add.. Lol

(1) Took a tough elective in a subject I had no interest in, just because she said she was taking the class.

Got an A.

When I was in high school I was talking to this girl online and wanted to show her how good I was with computers, so I ended up looking up her full name/address/phone number based on the very limited amount of information she had gave me up to that point. Then showed it to her to prove how smart I was.

Luckily she really liked me so she took it as the dumb, sweet thing it was rather than the incredibly creepy thing it could look like. Shes still a good friend today and we exchange messages on a regular basis.

You should have printed it out and scrawled a note that said "IMPRESSED NOW?" and nailed it to her front door with a rusty nail. That would have got her attention.

In high school, I ran for senior class president to get the attention of the girl who had been our class president the previous two years. I figured she would be impressed with my interest in politics. Instead, I beat her by a landslide and she hated my guts for the rest of high school.

I saw her at our reunion and she was still pissed at me. (But I didn't care because she had gotten really fat).

ROFL!

How did you figure that running against her was actually a good idea?

People who are still angry about high school things have issues.

I'm still angry about bullying, because it helped to create my issues.

I'm sure I've tried to impress someone, but I'm having trouble thinking of anything right now. I realize what I'm doing, and stop it. I'm sure I looked like more of an idiot, when it was obvious that I liked someone, and I was trying to hide it.

Dumbest thing I ever did to impress somebody? Seven years ago I went out and blew all my cash on a brand new shirt and slacks so I could look sharp at a bunch of speed dating parties. I could have done something more constructive with that time and money.

That's too funny.

My senior year in high school I bought a knock off Rolex watch. I was showing it off to a real pretty girl, that I kinda had a crush on at work. Her uncle was jeweler, and she laughed right away, because she knew it was a fake.

She liked me so much I probably could have gotten away with that too....

I joined a guy I liked on a hike. I'm not really outdoorsy, but I wanted to impress him. We hiked for miles climbing up this mountain of rocks and then back down. It took hours and must have been 10 miles. My body was in agony, but I persisted. For the next two weeks, I could barely walk because my muscles were so sore.

As you can surmise, I didn't get the guy, but I got a good workout. :D

It seemed like a good idea at the time. . . .

I've never analyzed it before, but now that I think about it, it was a total guy-thing to do. Men impress each other and gain respect for each other by fighting and competing, so I guess by impulse back then was that if I wanted her to be impressed with me, I had to compete with her and beat her at something. Totally stupid, I know now, but that's how my brain worked at 17.

The worst thing was that it ruined my senior year. What a pain in the @ss!!!

I'm sometimes tempted to try to do something to impress someone. I'm sure I must have when I was younger. Mostly I just do whatever feels right at the time. Doesn't always go over as planned though.

I sometimes feel a little dumb later, but I don't recall doing much of anything to intentionally impress anyone.

My good friend from HS once said "you are so unimpressed with yourself."

Yea, and I like it that way. I'm impressed with how unimpressed I am with myself (ha ha) and want other people not to be too terribly impressed either. Not to the point of being disgusted or repulsed. Just normal.

I went as fast as the car would allow. I don't even remember what the actual speed was.
