irc333 Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 I am starting to think how people are keeping themselves unreasonably single. They FIND fault with others. They seek it out. THere was a discussion about short men, a woman stated that she doesn't date short men, because they all had that "Napoleon" complex or "short man complex", bitter, etc. You know. But, when encountering a NEW short guy, and writing him off based on your past experiences with them? Is that logical? This could go for other things, too. "I dated 3 guys that owned Motorcycles, and they were jerks......so I wont' date guys with motorcycles anymore" Not a good example but that's the best I could come up with, but at least it can draw a picture here. But writing future prospects based on some hobby or characterstic of PREVIOUS people you knew, quite foolish, yes?
Nikki Sahagin Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 This isn't really a question is it? Just a rant. I find even if people intend to write someone off i.e. for being short, if they're attracted to them or like them, that will override their initial intention to write them off.
Oxy Moronovich Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 It's not logical, but it happens. Anyone can write an entire group of people off for any reason. It's called stereotyping.
grkBoy Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 It's amazing how many women I've met who tell me how they dated a Greek guy once, he was horrible to her, and now she says "I'll never date a Greek man ever again." BUT...in the same conversation they'll speak of how "hot" Italian guys are. Later they'll complain how their latest Italian boyfriend treated her badly, like the Greek did. The problem is these particular women are really attracted to the macho/guido/tough-guy thing...but seemingly can't understand why that mentality doesn't generally come with "loves and treats women well". Even the Greek these women date in their pasts more or less are guys who try to imitate the Italian guido thing. NOW...I'm not attacking Italians in general. I'm merely pointing out the stupidity of some people in how these women I've met in my past will blame ethnicity for what is really their poor taste in men. AND...just to be fair...men are no better. Look how many will get burned by some girl they met in a nightclub, so they claim nightclub women are evil...yet they keep running after fake-looking hot plastic airheads in other avenues. 1
Oxy Moronovich Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 grkBoy, although Greek women have whiny voice and turn nagging into a science, I can't let them go. They make the best food in Europe.
