Pyrannaste Posted June 16, 2004 Posted June 16, 2004 Can anyone help me find on the internet a pic of a badly bruised eye? Like, when you get a punch in the eye or get hit next to an eye and you get a bad looking red-puple bruise around you eye. I can't find any on the net and I need to find one soon. It is very urgent, my grandmother last day fell, hit her head, got stitches(nothing serious) , today bruises she has around her eyes(which are normal) are purple-colored and bad looking and this morning she got completedly scared and yelling she is going to die. She is saying she has got an infection, she got non sterile stiches, she is going to lose her eyes and die....she is 90 and scared. Until her doctor tells her in person the bruise is normal she will be mad, and scared to death. She refuses to go out with me to the local drug store to talk to the pharmacist (He'd tell her it is normal). The doctor is coming to see her in a few hours and I'm trying to calm her keeping her company until my parents get back home, explaining the bruise is normal, if I can find a picture to show her that such a bruise is normal that will calm her down a bit. I'm trying to explain her how bruises form and that it is normal, she won't believe me but at least that is calming her a little. If she sees a pic of a badly bruised eye that will help her to understand it is normal. thanks to anyone who can help me.

Author Pyrannaste Posted June 16, 2004 Author Posted June 16, 2004 Thank you dyer for the very useful link and the quick reply. I showed it to my granny, and it really helped to calm her a little. After a while I also managed to find some more pics on my own.... luckily now my granmother will be -if not totally relaxed- at least not scared to death until she sees the doctor today. She still will not really believe anything I say until it will be her doctor telling her in person that her bruise is normal. But at least she is no longer in a panic attack.
dyermaker Posted June 16, 2004 Posted June 16, 2004 I'm happy that things are okay, even if I don't fully understand the situation.
