A friend on facebook tipped me off about it, and the message was really sweet and not stalker/scary. Although, he does post my first name, and where i work, and the address of where i work, on craig's list, which is a little more information than i would like, as it is a small town, but it is a grand gesture none the less.

i guess my question would be, since he asked me out basically in a public forum, but i dont know who he is, is this normal, or weird behavior? should i go out on a date with him? i messaged him, but havent heard back, and it has been a couple days. I feel my message might have been more gruff than i intended, kind of a who are you type message. but i work in customer service, so i help and see a lot of people through the day. I think i know who he is, and if i am correct, he is cute, but if i am wrong, i know several creepers who have crushes on me. Thoughts?

Yeah, I think you should go out with him.

ugh, finally got a follow up email, and the guy appears to have done some google snooping "research" on me. Always the creepers that are into me. :(

You must be talking about the "missed connections" section of craiglist. People tend to use it to try and get in contact with someone they fancied but didnt get a chance to talk to when they originally saw them.

Im thinking the number of connections made with that are mighty low, because who really thinks to themselves "lemme see if anyone was checking me out today....lemme check craigslist"

Btw, I have used it once. I ran into a girl at school a couple years back, who was really damn cool....for some reason I goofed and didnt get her number...so I posted on missed connections of craigslist hoping I might run into her. I didnt use any real names, but I did describe what we looked liked and what we talked about just enough so if she ever saw it, shed know it was me. Nothing came of it, and it was what it was.

But the guy thats into you OP, sounds mighty creepy if hes snooping you online. Then again, a lot of people use google to screen people nowadays, especially with online dating. People wanna avoid the crazies.
