After being together for 2 months, my girlfriend left me. The main reason (from what I can tell) is that despite the great times we had, she feels that she wasn't ready for a relationship. She has her own issues that she seeks counseling for, and I guess she thought that starting this relationship would help her work with those issues. Now, she tells me she is sorry I was her shoulder to cry on (which really wasn't true), sorry that I was 'subjected' to her ups and downs, and she feels that she has to grow as a person before she can embrace having someone in her life like that.

The problem is that to me she is this incredible angel, and I do love her. We've known each other for about a year. Being with her has always made me happy, and I have told her that. When we broke up a few days ago, I was in denial, but I realized the best option I had was to agree with her decision, as anything else would have just pushed her farther away. We are still friends, but naturally I want that to change. My question is what should I do now?

Should I avoid contact with her for a week or so?

Should I ask her if she wants to hang out (as friends).

Should I give her time and hope she'll rethink her decision?

Or do I have to let this crush me, and move on to another girl?

Thanks.

Right now just keep your distance and work on yourself. You can not have a friendship with someone when you have feelings that are of more than a friend.

If you're getting heartache and indecision from her after two months then maybe you need to realize she's not right for you and move on. Maybe you're not ready for a r/l either? Work on you, give her space, be kind, and you'll be straight.
