We are talking about HSN1 and HSV 2....nice try though bringing up a totally different virus with entirely different effects

 No you ****** ******, the point was that you claimed the whole time that you are free of herpes and are too cool to catch it when in reality you probably have Herpes too. It doesn't matter if it's HSV 1 or 2, EBV belongs to the same family of herpes viruses, it's just a subgroup. Are you too f****** thick to f***** get this, you **** ***** ** ****?

95% of all females on LS have cold sore covered mouths. It's a fact!

I get your point, but this seems like an overreaction. You're taking this too personally.

I think Kaylan's stance is contradictory and potentially self-defeating, also, but in the end it's not like it's anybody else's business and of course he can choose to date or not date whomever he wants.

I myself got what I thought was my first cold sore when I was about 31 and already living with my now-husband. It was HUGE, and it hurt, and I was pretty upset about it because it was ugly and uncomfortable. I can certainly understand why somebody would want to avoid that--however, if it was something they felt really strongly about, obviously they ought to take more serious precautions, and even then they might very well end up **** out of luck, with the nature of viruses being what they are.

As it happens, my mom later mentioned to me that I had had one other cold sore, when I was a child. I didn't even remember or know that I was already infected and had been for most of my life, including all of my dating years, I was just asymptomatic. Mom told me that she has gotten a couple of cold sores, probably from her own parent, and she's probably the one who gave them to me. Considering all the other things she's given to me in my life, I think I'll give this one a pass. :bunny: She didn't get them frequently, and apparently neither do I, as I've only had that happen twice in my life, and one time I don't even remember.

Fortunately my now-husband wasn't phased at all, and he was kind of amused by my own upset reaction.

In the grand scheme, it really isn't a big deal. I bought some Abreva and I was back to normal pretty quickly and realized I had blown it a bit out of proportion, it wasn't really any worse than a big zit and Lord knows I've had a few of those in my life, too. It certainly hasn't turned out to be a major hit to my overall health or self-esteem.

And for the record, while it is very true that viruses can't live long outside of the body, they can and sometimes do survive long enough to be transmutable through certain inanimate mediums if they are shared within a reasonably short time span. Usually when people are sharing food and drink, they don't put it back in the fridge for an hour or two between bites and sips, ergo, whammo.
