Freshked Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 I'm moving 1000+ miles away for 6 months from where I live. I love my girlfriend very much. What kinds of questions should I be asking myself when it comes to if I should do an LDR?
TMichaels Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Umm.... How about: Do I want this girl to continue to be in my life? If you do, then six stinkin' short months and 1,000 miles is nothing more than a blip on your both of your life-screens. If you (and/or she) can't make that sort of "sacrifice" then don't kid yourselves, and cut the cord right now and move on. Best, TMichaels 2
creighton0123 Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Six months isn't that long of a time when it comes to an LDR. If it is only six months, I would say go for the long distance relationship. Discuss the following with her: 1. How often do you wish to communicate? 2. What mechanisms do you want to use for communication (Skype, IM, Txt, Email, snail mail)? 3. Monogamy or open relationship during time away? 4. Plan to split the time in half by having a short vacation after 3 months apart? 5. How often do we want to check in on the status of the relationship? (How we're feeling, what you want more or less of, what she wants more or less of, whether you wish to continue)? That about covers it. Six months will fly by.
Ghisop Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 If you say you love her 6 months is nothing! Shouldn't even be a concern at all
