Jane2011 Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 I don't get anything extremely flattering, like "your eyes are amazing" or "your hair is fabulous" I get complimented a lot just for being fit/thin, having a toned/small body. Also, my face. But people don't say "you have a nice face," obviously. Just the run-of-the-mill 'pretty' 'cute' thing.

A couple of my exW's female friends used to compliment me on my facial features, generally my eyes and lips. Since most people see me in jeans and a t-shirt or coveralls and a cap a large part of the time, when I 'dress up' for formal events, I've heard compliments about that. I guess I look different. I remember the office staff of one customer not even recognizing me when I stopped in on the way to a business meeting dressed appropriately, even though they had interacted with me for years as a 'greasemonkey' vendor. A good friend's wife once told me I don't take compliments well. This is probably because I don't have much practice. Practice makes better.
