I've only been going out with my ex for 2 months but we have liked each other so much for 2 years. His sister was my best friend, but when I started dating her brother, she started ignoring me, and to me that I wasn't good enough for her little brother. We were both virgins coming into the relationship and became each other's firsts. He said that he needed time to just focus on himself, he loves me, but he needs to focus on school. I found this reasoning of his to be very selfish. I fought for him so much, I didn't care that everybody thought I was being the worst friend in the world, because he said he will always be there for me. We haven't talked in 2 days, and yes, it was excruciating, since we used to talk 24/7. If we weren't together, we would text, or be on Skype. Then yesterday, he texted me with "hey", I replied, but he never did. Before we broke up he told me that he can always be himself around me, that he felt so free, so i shouldn't worry about him not coming back because he will, even if it does take him a long time. He asked me to not date while we're apart. If he feels this way, why break up with me? Why not just ask me to have less time with him? Should I wait for him? Is there even a chance of us getting back together? If so, how long do I have to wait?

I'm just so confused right now. I need help. :(

Should I wait for him?

I believe in patience. It is better to wait until you can reach an alternative. I believe in evaluating the relationship & to also evaluate what you really want in a man. Strongly contemplate whether or not he fits what you really want & don't settle for less. You could give him a year before moving on. Plus, also work on yourself if you can in becoming a better person... well, unless if you're already perfect.
