KeepMeInMind Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Has anyone here gotten a tattoo to symbolize their struggles and/or recovery related to M/D/A? Please share. 1
SweetTux Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 I got a tattoo from my last breakup(not my recent breakup). It is a succubus holding a heart in her hand being attacked by three rats. My chinese zodiac is the rat. The rats represent me fighting for love. The number of rats represents the number of my ex's. I'm fighting the succubus over my heart and love. lol... I'm probably going to have to add another rat for this most recent ex... 1
BewitchedandBothered Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Has anyone here gotten a tattoo to symbolize their struggles and/or recovery related to M/D/A? Please share. Not sure what M/D/A means; could you clarify? After my breakup with my creepy ex, I got a huge owl tattoo to symbolize my wisdom from having learned alot, and for having spent countless nights awake; I became a night owl; always analying, trying to figure things out.
Author KeepMeInMind Posted April 3, 2012 Author Posted April 3, 2012 Marriage/Divorce/Affair I've wanted something to represent all the pain I've been through in my life (child of divorce, stepmother died, abusive father, abusive boyfriend, verbally abusive husband, sibling died). Now my latest love endeavor has pushed me over the edge enough to do it. Just not sure what. 1
Author KeepMeInMind Posted April 3, 2012 Author Posted April 3, 2012 Is it okay for you guys to post links to pictures of yours? I know we are all supposed to be discreet/anonymous so not sure that's possible.

You have been through so much trauma and are still strong, rising, like the Phoenix:) 1

Feelin Frisky Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 I'd sooner give breach birth to a porcupine through my urethra than get a tattoo for any reason. 2
Exit Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 I'd sooner give breach birth to a porcupine through my urethra than get a tattoo for any reason. Lol I've seen you spouting your anti-tattoo beliefs in many threads around the forums. We get it. 1

SweetTux Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 http://i1094.photobucket.com/albums/i443/SweetTux/mytat.jpg The thing is you have to really think about what you want. You don't ever want to regret getting it. I don't regret mine and sometimes I even forget I have it... Also, most people that get one tattoo, end up wanting more. This is my only one, I will add to it for my recent ex, but I also still want more... >.< 1
Damia Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 I had a set of dragon wings put on my back to remind me when things get tough that I'm strong and can "fly" to new heights in the future Don't rush into it and make sure it has meaning for you ,not something someone else has suggested or pushed 1

I got some hebrew text which reads 'This Too Shall Pass'. It reminds me that nothing bad ever lasts (something which I needed to be reminded of constantly in the early days of my breakup) and also that nothing good lasts either - so make the most of the good times and try to remember that it's tough, it won't always be so. 1
USMCHokie Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 How about the Phoenix, always rising from the ashes? You have been through so much trauma and are still strong, rising, like the Phoenix:) Funny you say this...I actually have that phrase going down the right side of my back...and I got it a little while after my epic breakup...

shayla Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 I have a phoenix from my marriage/divorce. Suffered a near death experience, and it symbolizes that even though he tried to kill me, I did not die. I have a tattoo of a butterfly that represents freedom from that relationship and the promises of the future. The tattoo I got from this last break up are the words "Never a failure, always a lesson."

The tattoo I got from this last break up are the words "Never a failure, always a lesson." I like that! I love the meaning behind butterflies. I just hate that so many women go out and get butterfly tattoos just because they like butterflies. It takes away the meaning behind it. Which makes me think..maybe my tattoo idea needs to not be one focal point, but a scene, like the succubus and the rats posted. Hmm........
Sugarkane Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 I loved that the rats represented exes! But that would probably be an insult to rats wouldn't it? 2
