Hi! I've been browsing this forum for a couple of days now, found a few nice threads so I thought to join up. :)

I'll cut right to the chase! I'm in my late teens, and a random girl added me on Facebook about two weeks ago, because apparently we shall be going to same college soon. I'm generally VERY shy, but I managed to gather my courage up and send her a message, we chatted for quite a while and she mentioned she was really pleased that I messaged her. It ended at that, so a few days ago I sent her a message again and this time we had a much lengthier chat and she was much more talkative, I'd usually aim to ask about her(without making it look like an inquiry), we had a few giggles, she would ask about me, and so on. Thing is, I always thought that if a girl has ANY interest at all(be it friendly or something more) that she would message me sometime after I make the first moves? Or are there girls out there expecting for a guy to initiate everything, even if it's just friendship? I'm rather confused, I felt so shy and scared these two times when I initiated the chat :D, could it be that she was just polite and that I should back off for a while? Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but I have really scarce experience with girls sadly!

I might want to mention that during this time I kind of got to like her, but here is the catch! Until college begins in a few months, she won't be living anywhere near my town, and I really dislike long distance relationships/flirting, I'm much more confident in real life. What would your advice be? Should I just keep it at this level until we meet(occasional friendly chatters)? Or should I do anything else?

Thank you very much in advance for taking time to read this!
