How do you feel when you ask someone out or are asked out by someone?

How do you feel when you ask someone out or are asked out by someone else? Quick poll question. I'm trying to work up the courage to ask out a girl that I barely even know lol!! Do you feel nervous or scared? Are you scared of rejection etc? Also how do you feel if someone else asks you out?

 

I know I'm not really scared of rejection as such, just don't want to embarrass myself infront of the person or be made to feel stupid for asking (low self esteem) But at the same time I know that nothing ventured nothing gained! I get really nervous and usually chicken out (yeah I know it's ridiculous lol!!)
