dsw31 Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 Well..I broke the nc today just to feel even more dissapointed.My ex said that "I am too good for him & I will find someone who is much better than him."Even though I know that's the truth,it hurts to hear him say that.I thought he'd be missing me & realizing this break up is a mistake.He says he is sad about the breakup,he can't be all that sad if he doesn't want to reconcile. Thank you to everyone here.Just knowing that I'm not alone helps tremendously 1
Sugarkane Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 Yeah my ex had said the same thing to me once. He had too much to drink at The time. I pressed for more answers/ explanation but he refused to explain. I wish I had of listen to him at The time.

The reason for the silly breakup lines like "you're too good for me", "it's not you it's me", "I love you but I'm not in love"... they are all to avoid the real issues. A dumper feels bad for breaking your heart enough and they feel like being fully honest would hurt worse than trying to skate over things. Not many are honest enough to say "you smell funny", "you're bad in bed", "I find someone at work more attractive and I'd like to pursue them", "your laugh annoys me"... blah blah blah. The reason people do not reconcile in most cases is because the good doesn't make up for the bad. You can miss the person and miss what you shared, but be smart enough to realize that the odds of the issues being fixed are not worth the continued unhappiness. It all comes down to finding the right fit. In the end, no one is better than you. Some might be a better fit for your ex than you were, but no one is better than you. 1
