This really is a full body experience send a text to a friend in the morning share something you seen with a friend or family member Ask a friend to go see the band and still go!! Don't drive past favorite places and search for all new favorite places that are yours only Still look forward for leaving work just switch your reason to going to hang with friends / family or gym or just the plain fact your out of work. These feeling are temporary I promise. 2
leannesagoodman Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Everything's going to remind you of things you did at first and I wish there was a way around it but it's going to hurt like hell. But it's better that it hurts now. It doesn't seem like it, but eventually it will get better. I know that's such a rubbish cliche and right now there probably isn't any way that you believe me - I know I believed no one who told me, and seriously, I was in a very bad way - but it will. Eventually you will be able to look at these things with distance and not always associate them with you two as a couple. It will be a while, but time really does heal you. We're all here for you in the meantime though. Memories and associations hurt a lot, and they can make things very difficult. But stick with it. Eventually it will get better.
Author SilverBlueAndGold Posted March 29, 2012 Author Posted March 29, 2012 Thanks for the encouragement. Probably not helping that I ended up getting sick on top of the heartache. So some of the healthiest things I could be doing like getting out of the house and hanging with friends is the last thing I feel like because I am coughing and so run down. Trying my best to stay busy but it still feels like my routine is just: get up, go to work, endure the day, drive home, eat next to nothing, veg on the couch until I fall asleep. Lather, rinse, repeat.
