CarrieT Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Posting links to sites to have someone buy something is a form of spamming, yes. People come here for advice and to have discussions. If you are a person with a legitimate, there is no reason to add to those discussions with external links that are suspicious.

Any external links are also viral potentials, especially those linked to porn sites and believe it or not - easy-fix "how to get him/her back" type of links. they carry viruses and trojans.... the poster you referred to has now been banned. TaraMaiden Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 not if it's an external one. I would suggest you read the Community Guidelines, in full....? External links and fair use During the course of discussion, participants may wish to share relevant external sites to support an argument. External links must be non-commercial, provide empirical data relevant to the thread of discussion, be sponsored by an accredited educational institution, or link to a peer-reviewed publication. Commercial sites are those which stand to benefit financially either directly or indirectly from traffic directed to them from our site, including those designed to acquire user connection-specific data. All external links must point to text-based (HTML, ASCII) or graphical material (JPEG, GIF, PDF) viewable within the context of a standard web browser. Direct links to file archives, executable programs, screen savers, and other binary files are generally prohibited. Should it be necessary to quote directly from any source, electronic or otherwise, a proper, full citation must be included. If the resource is located on the web, a direct link should appear with the content. Quotes may not be longer than 250 words. You may include your personal homepage in the "homepage" field of your profile, however the other fields of your personal profile, including your signature, may not link to or contain a commercial web site as defined above, regardless of whether or not you are the owner. loads of rules huh?
Author wibe Posted March 26, 2012 Author Posted March 26, 2012 not if it's an external one. I would suggest you read the Community Guidelines, in full....? loads of rules huh? I believe that yes, there is nothing to sell, nothing commercial, there is nice content, relevant to your site, nice design BTW, and I realy love it.
TaraMaiden Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 hold it honey - these aren't my rules, and it's definitely not my site. I just act like it is! i'm just a quotidian regular, but i've been here for a while, and been around the block a few times.... and consequently, i (along with several others, it has to be said ) know what the rules are..Ultimately, it will be up to the Mod to allow it or not. But the more you post as a regular, and the more general contributions you make to other peoples' threads, without pushing an agenda, the less likely they will be to boot you outright.
Author wibe Posted March 26, 2012 Author Posted March 26, 2012 I totally agree with you. I plan to participate on the forum very often. Post just relevant post. Many thanks. Wibe
