I have a really good friend that is usually a really great person, but when she gets drunk she becomes very mean.

I have told her numerous times now and every time she just apologizes and then goes and does it again. I don't know how to word it to make her understand that I will seriously have to stop being her friend if she doesn't stop this.

There are no words to make her understand. You either have to accept it or not. Trust me, there is nothing you can say to make her stop. You can say things that make her feel guilty for a bit, but that alone will not change her.

If you don't want to be her friend anymore because of this, that's okay. If you want to tell her you will still be her friend but will absolutely not be around her when she's drinking, that's okay, too.
