Who should initiate the first move? When do you think it's safe to resume contact again? It has been about 2-3 weeks.

If someone tells you someday you can be friends, move on, it's over. Let them contact you.

i would wait a few months minimum before reaching out as a friend. 2-3 weeks, don't fool yourself, it won't be good for you.

 

but like the previous poster said, just move on completely. let her be the one to contact you if you guys ever talk again.

I think it all depends on the motive for being friends. Do you really, really want to be friends with no inclination for her to be a love interest? If so, then I would say contacting her would be just fine. (After only 3 weeks, that is doubtful however).

 

Otherwise, go with Bewitched's advice (it is always good!) Let your ex approach you on the subject of being friends and deal with it when the time comes. Your feelings will change over the next few weeks and months.
