Why would girl post most unflattering picture of herself?

I met a girl off an online dating site yesterday. She has one picture on her profile as well as on her facebook, and it is the most unflattering picture of herself. When I asked her, she just said, "oh, I just never got around to changing it." Also, in her profile, she says she's BBW. She's slim in person. I guess she didn't get around to changing that, too.

Don't most people want to show the most flattering picture of themselves and their current weight especially if they've lost weight?

She might actually be secure enough with herself that pictures aren't a big deal to her (she doesn't need to "show off" weight change, she is who she is, bad picture, overweight, skinny, all the way around.) She might have honestly forgotten to change it.

She might be taking this board's advice to heart to "be honest." There have been several threads of guys complaining that women lied about their weight or appearance in their profile-presenting themselves as younger or skinnier than they are. Maybe she decided to go the other direction... if a guy can love her when she's overweight and ugly (her photo being the first thing they see, and it's unflattering) then he'll love her when she's thin and pretty.

Really, what does it matter? It turns out she's skinnier and prettier than you thought she was, so why is it a big deal?

Yeah right, this doesn't happen outside of movies and fairy tales.

Women aren't out there posting pictures of their 300 lb selves to find a man that will love them for their heart. Women are actively polishing every last detail of themselves and showing off as much of their assets as possible so they can get drafted in the first round by the shiniest package.

The pictures on the facebook are strange. My guess would be she's trying to ward off stalkers and facebook suitors as she already has enough men to pick from.

Is she black? Maybe she thinks BBW means Beautiful Black Woman. I used to think that's what it meant. :o:laugh:

If you send an unflattering photo, you'll always be a pleasant surprise when you show up to meet the gentleman. :) Also by having the unflattering photo, you can weed out the more superficial guys . .

So were you hoping she was a BBW?

I have thought of doing that.

I have thought of posting the most unflattering picture and listing my height as like 5'1". Then, the .01% of the women who decided to date me would be gems of people.

Of course, such hyperbole is easy when you've never done online dating.

I thought she was BBW given her picture. She messaged me first on the site, was hilarious and sassy. Ended up meeting her in person, and I was just . She was like a Rosie O'Donnell turned Jessica Alba. Feels like I was trolled somehow. Other than that, she's a really nice girl. I'm just baffled by it all.
