You cancel your account on match because someone misrepresented themselves...

Talk about throwing the baby out with the bath water..

It seems you aren't ready to date and put in the effort it requires to find someone.. finding quick fast chicks isn't easy online or any other way..

Time to change what you want in dating if you want to find someone who doesn't misrepresent themselves...

Even for a good looking, educated white guy like me, internet dating is a very humbling experience. Out of 10-15 e-mails I've sent so far, I've yet to receive a reply (AND I DO HAVE A GOOD PHOTO FOR MY PROFILE BY THE WAY).

For men sites like POF only work if you're extremely good looking or you're willing to lower your standards and date the random fatty who messages you once a month. You're either gonna be prime rib or yesterday's leftovers on that site. If you're a regular guy just looking to meet a nice girl for a relationship you might as well forget it.

The low value women on there wouldn't know a good guy if he jumped in front of their face. They're all on that site and single for a good damn reason.

All men should boycott the OLD and not use it for a month. This will humble some females there and maybe they will start replying more often. if not..another month!

i had a pof account for a very short while. within several minutes of creating my profile and having pics up, i was getting messages from all ages of men. the little chat window thingy kept popping open with new IMs. it was overwhelming.

i didn't keep the account long, because honestly, i got tired of messages that were either sexual from the beginning or quickly went that way. a couple people seemed normal for a few exchanges and then once off the site and texting, i was getting pictures of their junk. i guess they were hoping for an even exchange. after a 45 yr old guy asked me to lunch and i accepted i though, " eh, one normal guy!" however, 2 days later he sent a text asking for just out of the shower topless pics!!

so, i deleted my account. i had it for maybe 2 weeks, 3 weeks at the very most. and most of my interactions were via messages/ texting, and requests for nude pics. i was asked out twice and only one of those turned into a date. he was the ONLY guy that did not ask for naked pics, called me on the phone, and asked me out!!!

so, i thought that site was a complete waste of time!!!!!!

I have POF. I do get messaged, but not often by anyone I actually find attractive. Have never met anyone on there yet.

Lets just say POF is the lowest dating site on the dating site scale that you could be on. The quality of the people on there is very low.

Normal guys should stick to meeting women in the real world through friends or going out about town.

I've heard online that some large metro areas have a 15-25 to 1 ratio of men to women on POF. How do men expect to get anywhere with these types of odds?

its humbling for women too! i recently joined OkCupid without a photo, emailing only the guys i was into. While i do send them a pic (a far away pic, not a close up face shot), i have been getting responses, and winks and whatnot, but so far only one has resulted in back and forth emailing. i have yet to be asked on a date by anyone except one guy, who was overeager. out of two guys I'm interested in, one seems to be 'online' often, yet takes days to reply to emails (meaning, he can't be that interested), and the other seems to be every girls dream (cute, witty, successful) and is likely inundated with emails. So I don't know what to think?? SO humbling.

well i would highly recommend you to check out this blog about being good at meeting hot women online as it would not matter what website you are. if you dont have the right knowledge, you wont be good on any site.

Nah. I appreciate the advice and all, but I've bowed out of the online dating thing. It's just too damn impersonal to me. If I meet someone who's into me and I'm into her, then cool. Catchy "headlines" and witty profile descriptions only go so far. If they're not the real representation of who you're talking to, then you're gonna find that out sooner than later. Why try to be something you're not? The whole thing is lame.
