So, I had a meeting at a coffee shop with two fellow business owners this morning, and as part of my efforts to really step up my look lately, I wore a nice suit, with a well-fitted black blazer, slim black pants, a vibrant red shirt, and pointy heels. I did my hair and makeup nicely, and wore subtle but elegant jewelry. Also, I'm tall, and even taller in heels, which adds to the effect. I looked basically like this, but with my hair down and a RED shirt: http://www.carefair.com/data/uploads/istock_000003257261_l.jpg

Just reading your description, I already knew you were talking about THAT look: the smart, elegant businesswoman.

If you are tall and slim and you dress like that, you are DA BOMB! I know it because I am also rather tall and definitely slim, and that style immediately gives a woman a model look.

So go for it but beware: it's not because guys are drooling over you that they will ask you out or want a relationship with you.

I'm not a guy...but you'd definitely get my attention!

Yes.

I have pretty much had my world blown wide open the past week. I've been dressing up to do all kinds of things, from errands in the neighborhood to big client meetings, and studying people's reactions. Well, it's pretty much the same reaction. When I walk around dressed up with my head held high, with a radiant attitude and beaming smile, this whole damn city treats me like a queen.

Clerks go out of their way to help me, stare and smile at me, want to chat once the transaction is through. Sales guys in retail stores swarm around competing to help me. Men buying lottery tickets in the convenience store treat me like Marilyn Monroe and ruminate dreamily about what might happen if one of us wins millions. Women compliment me on my style and want to be my friend. They go out of their way to help me with anything I need.

And most important -- clients look to me as a sharp, savvy expert, and defer to me on what to do for their businesses. I'm getting closer to the point where they're essentially handing me a blank check and trusting me to work some magic for them.

I am experiencing some major growing pains. All this attention, while nice, is also exhausting. I'm trying something totally new that I've never done before. It's exhilarating, and terrifying. But I'm going for it!
