So here is my story:

On the 15th I wrote a girl on OkCupid. We agree on a lot of the "match questions", and she is very attractive (to me, at least). My message must have gotten her attention, because she wrote me back before the night was up and OkCupid says she replies "very selectively."

I responded to her the next day after I got back from work, and within 3 hours she had written me back again. The next morning, I wrote back, and haven't heard anything since (that was early on Saturday).

Obviously it hasn't been that long, but it seems like an eternity considering how quick her previously replies have been. I really have no idea what would have turned her off of me; my latest message was written the same way my previous two were.

Really the problem is that I have a fantastic idea for a date (which I know she would be interested in based on how she answered a question), but time is running out to make that happen (it is an event). I was planning to ask for a phone number in my next message so that I could move that plan along, but now I'm left wondering if it might be ok for me to just send her another really brief message explaining that I have an event I'd really like to invite her to, but that it is soon so I'd like to call her about it if she wouldn't mind.

What do you think? Is sending another message before hearing back almost always bad, or would it possibly be ok?

Thanks!

Go for it. Maybe if you phrased it like, "I just heard about this event and I remembered you like ___ so I wanted to invite you to go with me" it kind of makes it sound spontaneous and like you haven't been waiting on her to reply.

If she's interested in you, it's not going to be a deal-breaker that you messaged her twice in a row. Do it!

Thanks for the input CC12!

I decided to follow your advice, and I now have a phone number. :)

As a quick aside:

She replied very quickly again (probably less than two hours)... Leaves me wondering if maybe my previous message got least in a sea of others? Who knows, I guess it doesn't matter now.

Thanks again!
