Really? Maybe you should start offering more.

The girl who accepted in 2007 was offered $50

Huh. Someone's cheap!

If she responded back and said $200 and it's a deal, I would be running to the ATM so damm fast-LOL

It's really hard for us too. I was saying that making conversation about your birthdays is just a lame grasp for something to talk about. If she would have suggested hanging out on his birthday and then not talking to him again that would have made her rude.

But women don't suggest hanging out often because we have to worry about looking needy and clingy.

As for signs, I don't know. It varies for each woman! I put some of my own signs in a previous post.

I guess the only way for me to know is if she flat out told me.:(

Anyway OP better be glad she made a conversation about birthdays instead of my date with her rape fantasies, and man on man fantasies, and nazi support.

Haha. Yeah your date was much worse than his! :/

Anyways, you'll figure out the signs eventually. Just keep trying!

I wonder if the girl responded to his bribe.. I'd be pissed haha.

I thought bribing people wouldn't be a good idea but if he likes prostitutes oh well then.

As for figuring out signs that is like an alien psychic language and I feel almost socially retarded so if there isn't a manual showing me what are these mythical signs I'm probably never going to figure out on my own.

You're not alone in this, we all have issues reading signs and what people are saying and what they really mean, and what they're doing and what they mean by it. It's all an annoying game, I just wish people could come straight out and say what they think and feel. And what they want. But that's not how it works.

She is not a prostitute, she would be a regular girl do something for a GIFT. I'm allergic to prositutues and would never have one in my apt

Ok I'm about to go to sleep but after reading several articles and looking at several youtube videos, I have come to the conclusion that it was something I did to turn her off from the time we left the cafe to the time I got off the bus. So i'm not sure if the things below were turn offs but i know for a fact that in that cafe she was totally into me.

1. I mentioned that was my first date since on a friday since last May

2. I sent her a text while we were waiting for a bus to be silly-thought it would be cute

3. Brought up the job situation again while waiting for the bus

4. While on the bus told her I have to check my phone to see if my basketball team won.

5. Once I found out they won I said...."Now I really feel good since I spent a evening with you and my team won, great friday.

6. Mentioned on the bus that I may need to wear glasses soon because my vision seems to be changing as I get older.

7. When I got off the bus and waved bye, I sent a text 2 mins later like this

"It was a pleasure meeting you:)

So i'm thinking that one of those 7 things from the time I left the cafe may have been a turn off

And now that I think about it, the entire time we were in the cafe I did not talk about

Sports

My Blurry Vision

Unemployed Status

Date History

So looks like I messed this one up folks. It was all on me.

Is the bus a common mode of transportation in your area for employed people?

I ask because in some areas, it would be totally normal/common, and in others (like where I live), it would be... just... not a good thing. I might get flamed for this, but in my area, if I realized the guy I just went on a date with was riding the bus, ... um, that would be the last date.

Not so in other cities though, hence why I'm asking.

Someone exchanging sex for money/gifts/favors is technically a prostitute in my book. Then again a ton of women do this so I guess there are more prostitutes then you think.

May I ask why?

Because employed professionals in my area do not ride the bus.

What about employed professionals, who were recently spending time in another country, or whose cars were recently written off?

It's common for people who live in my type of neighborhood. She was actually the first girl who caught the bus after a date in about 10 years. Most women I went out with either drove or caught the train.

She doesn't drive because she just bought a house. I don't drive because parking is a FEE in my neighborhood.

BTW: if we started dating I would have probably been giving her cab fare so she wouldn't be on the bus. But i don't have to worry about that now

Car "written off"? What does that mean?

Let me put it this way. I don't know a single employed professional in my geographical area (which I'll refer to as a radius of 60 miles) who doesn't have a car. If they're car-less, it's for some sudden, unforeseen reason (car accident/being repaired), and at which point they will either get a ride from someone in a car, or rent one.

Gotcha. That's why I asked, it depends on the area. In SF, most either take BART or the bus, but in my part of NorCal, and pretty much all of LA, everyone has cars. California isn't that great when it comes to public transportation.

Written off, just means the car is damaged beyond repair, so it needs to be replaced.

Okay, we call that "totaled" as in "total loss."

My car was totaled in December 2010, and until my insurance proceeds came through to buy a new car, I was renting one.

I am actually going on a first date with a 46yr old on saturday, and he is getting to the date by train.

Here, there are so many costs and fees for owning a car, and there is hardly anywhere you can park for free, so for many people it is a better financial decision not to even bother owning a car. Even for me, the police are all over the place giving out tickets, so I told the kids I couldn't drive them to school anymore. I got a $300 ticket just dropping my daughter at school a couple of weeks ago.

I'm about to send the proposition text message and will be done with all CMM after that.

"Would you accept a $100 Amex Card to help me fulfill my fetish I have:)

Sent, sorry. Her number is deleted and now I can move on

Omfg.....

She knows I have a fetish for a woman to take off her shoes and walk on my back

Btw, was this fetish stuff on your profile or did you mention it during the date?

Where I live this would be true as well. I have family in Philly, and they all have cars, but many do take the bus at times. Not like in NYC or San Fran proper, but perhaps it's more common with younger folk (my family there is older and the only other friend I have there is an old ex, who I know has a car and I presume drives everywhere because he has a new baby).

But where I live, you wouldn't be able to get around efficiently on a bus. Only the working poor and non-working take the buses and such regularly here.

What's next? I'm betting this nightmare is quite over just yet.
