fortyninethousand322 Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 So I figure it's St. Patrick's Day, and the NCAA tournament is going on, it's Saturday, the bars are bound to be packed tonight. So, what should be my plan? Head to a local spot, maybe drive to a cooler place? Any ideas? Tips? Snide remarks?

Bars will be full of men watching the final four. There's sure to be lots of single moms at Chucky Cheese though Big city or more rural? Age range? Go UConn!!!! Lady Huskies winning it all.

But the city is about an hour's drive away. I guess I'm looking for early to mid 20s.
Bob_Funk Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 (edited) Good luck trying to get anything from bars. Numbers are meaningless, since women already have countless other guys trying to get with them. You'll simply be forgotten. The vast majority of women won't go home with a stranger either. The few who will have guys hounding them from every direction. Your odds of being chosen: practically zero. Edited March 17, 2012 by Bob_Funk 1

So, what should be my plan? Head to a local spot, maybe drive to a cooler place? Any ideas? Tips? Snide remarks? You are asking for tips about how to hit on women? The kind of women who frequent sports bars during St. Pattys and March Madness will be looking for hot and party dudes to be going home with. They will be getting drunk and plastered and throwing themselves at such guys. Let's just say meaningful conversation when they are blasting House of Pain "Jump Around" at full blast is impossible. If you're not a hot dude and have not had women throw themselves at you at bars before, it probably won't happen on St. Patty's day. Last year, a co-worker of mine had some random chick come up to him and ask him to take her home. Totally random, hadn't spoken to her that night. He obliged...

I don't have to go to a bar I was just throwing the idea out there. And I'm not looking for a hook up or whatever (taking a girl back to my parents' house where I share a room with my brother isn't exactly a good idea). I just want to socialize and get out there.

I'm more looking for how to meet and socialize with people I don't know. Specifically women of course. I'm not looking to meet some chick tonight and sleep with her or anything like that. Otherwise I'll have my typical Saturday night: see if any of my friends are doing anything, if they aren't then hang out with them. If they are, then watch some NCAA tourney on my own. Blog a little, then go to sleep. If I do go out, should I wear a shirt that shows off my muscles?
veggirl Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Good for you Go to a sports bar and sit at the bar. Easiest place to chat from, you can talk to whoever is next to you, the bartender, and people who come up to order. I'd get there early to get a seat!

So, what should be my plan? Head to a local spot, maybe drive to a cooler place? Any ideas? Tips? Snide remarks? I would say don't go to bar where people are actually watching the game as opposed to having games on in the background. It is one extra distraction that will get in the way of your goal. Do you have wing men? Guys who are seeking the same thing as you, not guys who want to get drunk and watch the game. If yes go out with them if not go on your own. Go to place where dressing nice won't make you stick out like a sore thumb. Then dress well, nice shirt (not a t-shirt), nice shoes (make sure socks are matching, aka no white socks). Clothes must be pressed, no wrinkles. I am a big fan of watches, if you have a nice one wear it. Cut your fingernails and get a haircut if you need one. Shave, brush your teeth before going out. Wear cologne. Those are the basics, if that helps I'll post more.

So, what should be my plan? Head to a local spot, maybe drive to a cooler place? Any ideas? Tips? Snide remarks? I don't understand why bars are such a big deal for people to "celebrate" Saint Patrick's Day. In Ireland, pubs weren't open on this day, until the 1970s. Maybe it has to do with the culture of Ireland, of many people drinking and becoming drunk? It is so sad... my Papaw's dad was a drunk and would also beat my grandmother (my Papaw's mom) Anyways, back to the topic, why not go to a beautiful, safe nature spot and enjoy a lovely picnic with loved ones, or get a good book and read to each other, or go watch an interesting movie, or something like that? Or maybe learn about Saint Patrick and his life?

Oh socializing... Well, there are parades... I don't know if there's one where you are, but parades are a cool place to socialize I think

But anyway, nobody is going to want to do a picnic with me. I'm kind of hoping to maybe meet and chat with some nice girls. I currently don't know any.
Hetzer Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 If you go out to the bar, don't go in with the mindset of meeting women. I'm going out today to, but with my usual intention (to get plastered and cause mischief). Not only will it be no fun, but there is a 98% chance you'll go sorely disappointed unless you are mindblowingly good looking. Bar scene is no good for men who want to meet women , too much compettition unless you find one of the rare times where there is an equal amount of women and men. In some ways, not dedicating all your time to meeting women is way more fun. The only reason it's an issue for me now is all my friends are trapped under a womans skirt, and tend to hang out with their girlfriends more than with me so Im kind of forced to try and look for a girlfriend (its pretty hopeless though). We had plenty of fun without women before though.
Author fortyninethousand322 Posted March 17, 2012 Author Posted March 17, 2012 Don't drink any green beer. I don't even drink. If you go out to the bar, don't go in with the mindset of meeting women. Hetzer Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Ms. Jameson loves everyone, even the not so tall, the not so pretty, the not so rich. All you need is 30 dollars and she will be yours for a night, a week, or a month, depending on how much you lust for her. IN other words, go out to have fun, not stress over meeting bitches. If anything see women as a source for laughs, instead of taking them seriously.

Author fortyninethousand322 Posted March 17, 2012 Author Posted March 17, 2012 Do you think it will make a difference? I don't know. Once, my friend's girlfriend said I had "really big arms" and she wasn't calling me fat either...

Too much work this weekend. I miss the days of being drunk and irresponsible.
