LostGirl11 Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 My ex text me last night, this is what it read, 'I'm still going to wonder about you/us for a long time, by there we go' I text him back asking if he wanted to talk about it and he basically said no! So why did he text me in the first place? Was to it just to see if I'd reply? I'm not going to read too much into it but it has left me a little confused.
nick d Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 He wanted to see if you'd reply and if he still had you.. Ego boost.

Just needed his ego stroked "yep, she wants me", kind of thing. Has ill regard for your feelings.

So he wants to call later, I think it's just to say good bye and to leave things on a civil note. I don't know what I'm going to say or how I'm going to react

My ex. emailed me almost 7 months after dumping me for her ex. Nothing about wanting to try it again just lot's of...I'm sorrys and regrets. I foolishly replied.
Eddie Edirol Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 So he wants to call later, I think it's just to say good bye and to leave things on a civil note. I don't know what I'm going to say or how I'm going to react If that what he wants, tell him to say goodbye to a dial tone. Dont bother answering, if it doesnt change your situation. 2

loveydove Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 push and pull is the sign of a confused ex. It means he still has strong feelings for you, but the reasons for the breakup haven't changed. If you want to keep your options open with him, perhaps you should listen to what he has to say and accept what he is saying (the more I fought my ex, the worse I made it). He may come around on his own. And if he doesnt, you gave it the best shot you could! 1

loveydove Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 well, I mean don't LIE haha but basically the idea is the hold on to the relationship by letting go - an oxymoron, I know. but the more tightly I held onto my ex, the more he squirmed. Just hear him out. And definitely do what you feel is right, tell him if you don't agree with him, but try your hardest to not fight him it will only make him more resistant. If he sees you are logical and composed, it is more attractive. Men are seriously so dumb sometimes, no offense guys, but they get scared off so easily.
