Real36 Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Hey everyone, I have recently got out of a short, bit intense, relationship. I have truly learned a lot about myself and my behavior while dating. I am beginning to see a pattern emerge. I have learned that I jump in with both feet, throw caution to the wind and trust without boundaries before I know a person. I tend to put my partner and relationship on a pedestal, then when the inevitable fall comes I am crushed. After, I become mistrustful and detached. Sometimes this is an appropriate reaction, sometimes not. Fear gets the better of me every time. Do any of you do this? Any insight on how to get a hold of myself and stop self sabotaging good relationships and strengthening my attachment toto bad relationships?
FitChick Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 I found that the only therapy that worked for me was the Lefkoe Method. Lots of therapists have been trained in the Method. I call it Lazy Therapy because once you've eliminated your self-destructive beliefs, you don't have to do anything else because you automatically make better choices. I found that I became attracted to and attractive to very different (healthier) types of men afterward. Watch the professional endorsements and read the website.

It really seems like cognitive/cognitive-behavioral therapy to me. It is a common form of time-limited therapy used for a variety of problems
