I need a second opinion. My husband cheated on me and we've been separated ever since I found out almost nine months ago. I don't think we'll get back together, but he desperately wants to. We agreed we could see other people while separated. I have not, but he recently started pursuing something with a parent at my son's school. It is a small school, and I am worried that this kind of thing could make life hard for me and my son. Am I wrong to be upset that he chose this spot to look for someone knew? He cheated with a co-worker at our joint workplace, and he lost his job as a result. (And now people there know, so it's been humiliating for me. I'm worried he's going to make it hard for me to go to my son's school, too.) Just want to know if I'm overreacting or if this is insensitive on his part. He has nothing in common with this woman, other than the fact they are both separated. (She's actually divorced.)

You are not overreacting one bit. You mention this is a small school, that's even worse for you and your son. You do not mention how old is your son but that also plays a big role.. friends tend to "make fun". I am sorry to hear this.. really am. Be strong.

UGH Really? He has to go there to find someone in a city of over 8 million people? IDK, in my opinion, that is tasteless, but then, maybe he has no concern about that.

I have to wonder how desperate he is to have you back when he is dating someone. I understand you had an agreement. I mean, it seems as if he would be doing anything and everything to get you back and this doesn't seem like this would help his cause.

Sometimes, it is so hard to just move forward. Good luck.

My son is five and in kindergarten. This woman's daughter is in the first grade. Husband claims that he wants to widen his circle of friends. Yeah, right. At least it is validating my initial instinct not to go back!

His behavior is not the behavior of someone who wants his wife back. I am separated myself and I can go see people If I want to. Guess what? I am not even close to being interested. When you are hung up on someone that should be the last thing on your mind. Good luck to you - trust your instincts.
