LostGirl11 Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 How do you trick yourself and others into thinking that you're are happy on special occasions? You know, the ones that should make you 'happy' When deep down you're far from happy. Basically my boyfriend ended our relationship and it's mothers day on sunday! I don't want to be all doom and gloom and spoil it for others nor do I want to force a smile. What do you do/think?
TaraMaiden Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Phew!! thank goodness, I thought this was going to be an horrendous thread about some kind of coercion.....! honey - you "Fake it until you make it" - ! you be happy for others, celebrate the day, and make sure you don't drink too much. it causes depression .... i don't know where you are, but mother's day originated in the uk as 'mothering sunday' and actually originally had nothing to do with mothers.... if you are a christian and go to church, look it up. if you're not - educate people on your new-found knowledge - it will fascinate them.... Keep yourself diverted by developing curiosity about all kinds of different things...investigate, research and discover new things. keep yourself interested - and interesting. be an enthusiastic intellectual.... and enjoy the experience..... 1
