I did go 24 hours without responding I said, " proud of you, good job" that is it. he initiated the contact not me ... so if I dont hear from him today I will go back to NO contact what so ever.

He text you, you replied with a friendly message which shows you are mature and accepting that you are no longer together and that you have moved on. Thats where you should leave it. Dont take this as him wanting to get back together. Just carry on with no contact

Why is he contacting you and telling you 'random' things about his life and accomplishments? Are you two planning on seeing/getting back together again at some point? Just wondering why he broke NC to tell you this. Kind of nervy eh.. how long has NC been going on?
