ja123 Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 When I did OLD, I made a point of avoiding men who posted more than 10 years below and refused to post a few years older than them. It was a mark of character for me. I agree with this. That's why I preferred it if a man, if required to post a preferred age range, put 'under 45', instead of '18-45'. It reflects better on him. As for using OLD ... it's tough, and can be frustrating and feel like a waste of time ... but if you use it, then you have to have a game plan and stick to it in order to get some results. You need to know want you want (yet still remain flexible), know your own expectations, time limits, develop your people picker, remain detached (i.e., don't let your projected hopes blind you, you need to get to know someone to see if they're a match before letting too many emotions get involved), and have a framework to make regular assessments.

RedRobin Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 I agree with this. That's why I preferred it if a man, if required to post a preferred age range, put 'under 45', instead of '18-45'. It reflects better on him. . I should add that one thing I liked about OLD was that I could sift out the men who were trolling for younger women... or (like a prior poster) just can't seem to possibly get over the thought of dating someone just a few years older... As if, we women are supposed to be ok with that, but they aren't. It pointed to a fundamental concept on their chosen relationship dynamic and preferences that I preferred to avoid. I hope they never change that... women need to know this information.
zengirl Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 I think it is certainly possible, but it's less likely. Most women I know who are past that age and haven't had kids don't want kids. Though I know some that do, and there are some on these boards. So, possible? Yes. Statistically likely? Hard to say. As easy as it would've been to find one when you were/she was a decade younger that fit those stats? Absolutely not.
El Brujo Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 This thread reminds me why I'm in favor of legalizing human cloning. Instead of having to sort through all these single moms, we could just send a check for $49.99 plus bus fare, and a cloned honey wearing a factory-issued skirt would arrive in 2 weeks. She'd be sterile and extremely horny.
Oxy Moronovich Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Fair enough, maybe I need the dose of realism. What you need to do is branch out more. Not only move to bigger cities, you should also move to other countries. Why stick around in just the States?

El Brujo Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 This sounds like your kind of film. It's actually quite good. Funny and heartwarming. Duh. I bought the DVD and watched it the year after the movie came out.
