spicolli Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 A bit of a dramatic title but Ive just about had it with this rollercoaster BS. Long story short, she dumped me about 8 months ago lying about the reasoning (she went back to her ex after 2 years). I tried off and on for about 3 months to no avail. In January she texts me randomly one night, asking if I called from a blocked number, which I did not. Come to find out her father had passed away from a longstanding illness. I tried my best to be supportive and I believe I was. She has initiated contact once or twice since then, and the conversations have been light and gone well, her asking me about my family, dog, house hunt etc. The last contact coming about 2 weeks ago. Fast forward to the present Went to the downtown area we used to live together yesterday, because of the big St Patties day festivities. Hung out with some friends, and one the way to leaving I have my head down walking my dog through the large crowd, and look up for one second, and she had already seen me, she leaned in to tell someone I was there, then she noticed I noticed her and she kind of squared up with a deer in headlights look (I did not maintain eye contact long enough to see who it was she was whispering to, likely her BF). I only looked for about two seconds, but is was long enough to put me in a S hit mood for the rest of the day. Today I woke up fine, but Im changing my number tomorrow, I would change it today but it is listed under a business account. No more anxiety about texting, no more what ifs, she made her choice, I wasnt good enough. Its time I stop fooling myself and take real steps to get past this.Im 80% the way there. I want 100% by the end of the month. Thanks for listening!
Mr Scorpio Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 You should do what you think is best, but wouldn't it be easier to simply block her number?
Author spicolli Posted March 13, 2012 Author Posted March 13, 2012 If you blocked a number it expires after 90 days according to the verizon wireless website. I have lived in a new area code for the past 4 years, the number has the old area code. Its time to update it anyway. I have always said that i think its ridiculous for one to change their number after a split, because there is no reason they should be inconvenienced, but in the case it makes sense and will move me forward. thank you for your response!
