Mme. Chaucer Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 I think this video represents the "professional's" best work, though:
Fondue Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 He's trying to help people struggling with wooing women, and you guys jump on him for it already. It's pretty ridiculous. Just last week there was a thread about men not approaching women enough and how it is upsetting. Yet we still have this attitude stuck up attitude. It's impossible to win with you women.
dasein Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 It's impossible to win with you women. But it's reprehensible, just like a video showing inexperienced women how to apply makeup would be the very embodiment of evil. Just another day on LS.
Mme. Chaucer Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Nobody here has said it's "reprehensible." If it helps you, good. I still think it's funny. I also doubt that the OP or Gil are trying to help anybody; they are trying to make a lot of money. Which is also good for them. It's a (funny) win/ win.
dasein Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Then how exactly was the "maggots in my head" an appropriate response? It wasn't.
Mme. Chaucer Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 I'm fine with spontaneous approaches, and when I was single, I really appreciated them when well done. I still reserve the privilege of finding the bountiful humor in presentations such as these. I'm sure plenty of guys would get a good laugh out of looking at videos about "how to catch a husband," too, especially if there were lots of links to how to pay for said "advice." For example;
Bob_Funk Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 I wonder how many non-fat girls an average guy would have to approach in this manner before getting lucky. 100? 1000? What a waste of time.

I'm sure if you paid Gil for the full course subscription, you would have spectacular success with all the girls. You should try it. P.S. Even many fat girls don't like wretched guys.
Feelin Frisky Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 I turned it off after he said to start by "tapping" a woman on her arm to get her attention. WTF? Not in this world.
FitChick Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 No woman wants to be touched by a strange man. How about saying, "Excuse me?"
RedRobin Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 I'm having a hard time seeing the 'love' behind the 'love system'.
Mme. Chaucer Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 (edited) I cannot imagine it EVER going well for a guy to "approach from behind" and then touch a woman he does not know. Eeew. But, if Gil says so … No, sincerely, I think this would be very bad advice to follow. The girl might have ninja skills or something. I watched the whole thing. He told her what he does for a living? "I am a professional pick up artist"?? I guess he was in luck that this particular girl doesn't understand English very well. I'm sure she has no clue. Edited March 11, 2012 by Mme. Chaucer
joystickd Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 I hate those type of videos because it cause men to focus on the simple stuff like tapping on a shoulder or what to say. It makes talking to a woman seem like you need a whole semester of training when its really simple. Its no different than talking to your buddies or a female co worker. Once men stop giving a sh*t about whether she is interested and just focus on having a conversation with someone then it becomes positive.
Mme. Chaucer Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 ^^ I think that's true. And a potentially insecure guy (probably a lot of insecure guys would be likely to spend hundreds of dollars for these "programs") is highly unlikely to be able to gracefully and casually pull off approaching a strange woman from behind and tapping her, and then telling her she is gorgeous. A person has to behave in a way that would be sort of natural to that individual. Or they probably will come off as weird.

She was probably thinking... that game where you pick up sticks and hope the whole tower doesn't fall down... Or, that he plays jacks professionally... That would be another example of a 'pick up artist'. The small metal jacks are the best, but you can't find them anymore. Now all you can find are big plastic ones... that you can't scoop up with one hand. 2
Mme. Chaucer Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 I also found it very rude for him to keep her standing on the street for 20 minutes loaded down with bags and wearing heels while he practiced his magic on her, especially since he took the tree to lean on himself. (Why did he call leaning on a tree "locking in"? Special secret PUA language?) His buddy was hiding behind a cart to film this … I wonder if he had his mark sign a release before he used her in his material? She was probably more of a shill than a mark ...

Hahaha that is too funny. Your probably right. Likely a shill And from what I've seen, yes PUA do have a secret language. It's more like code.
