RonChalant Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 So as the title states, about an hour ago I broke nc after 3.5 months with a drunk text. This is a copy of the text... "Seeing as I'm a bit under the influence and will most likely regret this text tomorrow, please don't respond. Tell Mr. Tek that he is awsome and that he is the only man I will ever love lol. I had a dream you sold him...DO NOT GIVE MY DOG AWAY, I wish to see him again someday when...well...someday. Lol I am going to attempt to leave but please take care of my son and again...please don't respond. I hope you and Jamaal are doing well but I'm talking to much so...yeah" Mr. Tek is my dog who she took from me...and Jamaal is her new man. I miss her evil ass and had been contemplating texting her about Tek (my son) for about 3 weeks now but wouldnt do it because I really didn't want to break nc, but i honestly was looking ay nc as a game I didn't want to loose so I dunno. While i said I wish her and her new boo the best I didn't really mean it, but don't want to seem bitter. What are your thoughts people?
blotter Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Dude your facade is so easy to see through, she will have no problem seeing how bitter you are about the break up. If you were trying to tell her how much you've been thinking about her these past months and how unhappy you are she is now with Jamaal, then mission accomplished.
CopingGal Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 My dear, NC is not a game. It is serious stuff. It's very hard to keep NC, but it will help you heal. It truly will, but it takes time. Wow, for someone who was drunk, you did alot of typing. How'd you do that while being drunk? Interesting? Anyway, take care/
nick d Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 I broke NC last weekend with a drunk text.. I ALMOST did again tonight with a drunk text, but I didn't. It's ok man people slip up with NC it happens. What helps me to keep NC (even while drunk) is knowing she doesn't care and has moved on.. It hurts, but maybe you should try it?
Author RonChalant Posted March 10, 2012 Author Posted March 10, 2012 Rereading this now sober I don't see where the bitterness you speak of. I honestly meant when I said i hope he and her are doing well. Yeah I'm a bit jealous but in all honesty I really do want her to be happy. We were together 7 years btw if that means anything. Lol and I wasn't hammered drunk...I had to edit it because I didn't want to seem pissy drunk.
Fitz Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 (edited) 1. It's too long and coherent to be an honest "drunk text." 2. Accordingly it comes off as a "fake drunk text." Meaning you are just making excuses to break NC. 3. In your attempt to disguise your actions as "alcohol induced" you come off as "desperate" but not convincingly "drunk." In effect, your text was not a "drunk text." It was a "sad text." "Sad texts" are exactly what you should NOT be sending if you want to get back with her. "Drunk Text" Examples "Mr foo is eating hair." "Babe wans dodo puppy" "A good yellow duck monster" "Fake Drunk" Text aka "Sad Text" example "Seeing as I'm a bit under the influence and will most likely regret this text tomorrow..." "Apropo to the amount of alcohol I have just consumed, perhaps tomorrow I will feel differently about..." "Although I have consumed an extensive amount of cocktails, I feel I must tell you something despite my reservations..." Understand now? OK. But everybody makes mistakes. So just move on. BTW, how are you supposed to be NC when she has your son? Sounds to me that LC would be the goal here. Edited March 10, 2012 by Fitz
Mr Scorpio Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Thoughts? You screwed up, just like everyone else does at some point. Turn in your 3.5 month chip for a 1 day chip and begin anew.
Author RonChalant Posted March 10, 2012 Author Posted March 10, 2012 Desperate no...sad slightly...drunk ok maybe misworded, let's say tipsy hence the "a bit under the influence". Honestly in my mind the text was more about the dog...and by my son I was reffering to my dog. I had been contemplating texting about my dog for a while and the drinks make me go ahead and say **** it. I will admit the ending is horrible lol but I genuinely do want her to be happy as I said.
Fitz Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 ...sad slightly. No. sad VERY. You are texting your ex about missing your dog. Meanwhile she's banging Jamaal like there is no tomorrow, while your dog is being neglected and forced to listen in the next room. I will admit the ending is horrible lol You got that right. Sorry for the tough love and disturbing narrative visuals, but I gotta be honest. And maybe this will snap you out of it. Trust me, if you had a beautiful woman in your arms, you would not be texting your ex about a dog. Find the girl (a new one). Forget about the dog. We all make mistakes. So accept that nothing is perfect in life. And let's keep moving forward!
g450 Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Maybe he should have sent: Hey Jamaaal! Mr foo is eating hair on babe wans dodo puppy duck monster! YOU F****!!!!
darkmoon Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 it's not as bad i thought, i've sent some real streamers - who hasn't?
Nancy B Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Everyone makes mistake so don't beat yourself up. Be grateful that it was a civil text message and not a highly emotional phonecall you made. 1

Meanwhile she's banging Jamaal like there is no tomorrow, while your dog is being neglected and forced to listen in the next room. Lol 3 months ago that would have crushed me but i honestly don't care anymore...I've been out "banging" chicks "like there's no tomorrow" for the past 2 months so I'm not phased by it. Find the girl (a new one). Forget about the dog. I have a new girl already and I have been doing a damn good job of parting her red seas (LMAO I just made that up and I love it). And no I'll never forget about my dog...I have his Griffin face tattooed on me...that's my friggin little man and had she sold him I would have dropped the ****ing world on her head. I honestly didn't have any ulterior motives in my texting which leads me to my next issue. So I was away from my phone for a little bit when low and behold...despite being told twice not to text back, she does. Something along the lines of "thank you for the nice message. tek is fine he's not going anywhere, and I am going to send you a journal I wrote you"...needless to say I'm a bit...well...upset. She's determined to have her way no matter what I say and that was one of the main issues in our relationship. This shows me that she is still the same person and quite honestly makes me realize even more that things just really may not be meant to be. Call me what you want but that shows that's she only wants things her way. Let the verbal abuse continue folks I'm enjoying it =)
sweetheart5381 Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Ya RonChalent, some folks here are pretty harsh. Not all of us though. I broke NC several times via text, I was under the influence, drunk for sure, yet still coherent and still speaking from the heart. Pay no mind to those who judge how drunk you are as an apparent excuse to contact. No room for judgment at all at this site imo. It's totally normal to still think about the ex and especially your dog, I am a pet lover too. In fact, strangely enough your post reminds me of when I moved out of my first ex's house many yrs ago. My beloved kitty Oscar ran away during the move. I would not break contact to find out if he came back.. was too afraid to but it hurt so bad to not know where or how he was doing. Sure enough Oscar came back to the house 2 weeks later and my ex drove him to my new place, an hr away. It was well worth me answering the door and breaking contact. Don't let the judgment get to you, it's everywhere.. even here at LS.
youngster Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 This is the main reason I haven't gotten super drunk for about 3.5 months. I know that it will lead to me losing my mental sharpness and trying to contact her. I went wine tasting a few weeks ago and it took A LOT of strength not to contact her. It really sucks that we are the ones that have to watch our step after a relationship. We all make mistakes, man. Fall down seven, stand up eight. Dust yourself off and move on.

Good to hear you are moving on. Who told her twice not to text back? And how do you know that? And she's sending you a page out of her own journal? I'm confused.
Author RonChalant Posted March 11, 2012 Author Posted March 11, 2012 It's all good man...and I told her twice in the text not to respond. As far as the journal, she told me about a month and a half ago she was going to send me a letter, but that its turned into more of a journal and that she would be sending it soon. Why, I really don't know. She wants to keep me emotionally within arms reach so she can come back whenever she wants, little does she know, with each day that goes by I want her less and less
