Have they ever been attempted?

I'm sure everyone would like to have a meetup in their hometown so getting there would be, well, easy.

AFAIK, no, but he did visit the former domicile of a famous Corcoran resident, back before Rose Bird decided by proxy that he needed to live in Corcoran indefinitely.

Considering how diverse this group is, that's kind of a toughie to come up with off the top of my head. We'd definitely need dinner and drinks. Depending on the group size, we could easily rent out a private room at a Philly hot spot.

 

I also always find a flag football game to be a great way to make new friends :)

Meetups from online groups are surreal and very fun in my opinion. :) My experience has been having the days to ourselves to rest, sightsee or shop in whatever small pairings or groups people choose, then bringing the whole group together in the evenings for dinner/dancing/whatever.

I'm right outside the "alleged" most powerful city in the world. Philly is not too far but not really close either. We could all meet up in Baltimore go to the inner harbor. If a good team is visiting we could go see an O's game. :laugh:

we've floated the idea throughout the years, and Las Vegas seems to be the most popular destination because there's some much to do, but not so big that it's overwhelming.

 

well, and because certain folks liked the element of being able to feed their hard-earned money into slot machines!
