guitarxkid Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 I wasn't quite sure where to post this, but wanted some good responses so I posted here. Basically I've been doing better lately with coping with a long breakup. Recently I asked a really pretty girl to prom (I'm a senior) who I've been friends (not really close) for a while. She said yes and was pretty happy about it. I hooked up with her like three years ago, but being really young back then I'm not sure if you could even call it a hook up. Since then whenever I've been single I've shown a little bit of interest in her to see if she has any back and she always hasn't. I'm guessing some of this has to do with the fact that my ex girlfriend is one of her good friends. But I also think she just doesn't see me that way, which I would like to change. I would like some tips on how to try and get out of the friend zone and change her view on me, to thinking of me as someone she would hook up with again. Most girls think I'm pretty attractive so I'm not sure if that's as much of an issue as just how I've shown interest and maybe going in too quickly. Thanks in advance.
darkmoon Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 (edited) if the new girl is freinds with the ex, please don't look like a man screwing his way thru college, take it slow because "he's such a gentleman..." can only be deemed high praise - my two cents we women discuss you guys, see Edited March 9, 2012 by darkmoon

See past threads for more info but hooking up with this new girl would not in any way be looked at as bad. Thanks for the response
darkmoon Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 "my teacher assigned us seats and he put me right next to her which is awful for me" you must have a quiet word with the teacher about this, just a quiet conversation, because you're only human, new separate seats but as it's prom, i'd buy her a corsage, i guess there's drink or two...so if it's a warm night go outside, i keep thinking of couples on hammocks on porches in old films, offer her your jacket placed around her shoulders if it's cold... not sure what "hooking up" means to you - love or first base?
thatone Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 hooking up to kids in the US means they had awkward teenage sex once already. as for advice? pretty simple. tell her how great she is and how you thought about her these past 3 years, and how much better she is than the ex/friend. feed her ego. make people feel good about themselves and they'll feel good about you. that works with any sort of relationship, not just with women.
